TOPIC: New Trade Tokens for 2017!

Well all gold reserve bars are so other dominations that are being phased out. Other than that it is all trade tokens (and the Wish Ring).

I was thinking I could use a new trade token for Mystic Silks, like Super Mystic Silk.

As far as I understand it the 10k and 2.5k bars will be phased out, leaving only the 1k, 5k, and 25k bars.

That's like what India did in Nov. Didn't realize Jeff also does prophecies.

India phased out the highest denomination while restricting the number of lower demoninations creating an run and economic uncertaintly.

In True Dungeon it would be like phasing out everything above 1K and then restricting the ability to trade in for smaller demoninations to like 1K per month.

Actually India phased out the most common bills (500 and 1000) with 4 hours notice. Then limited how much you could exchange without using a bank account. The goal was to weed out all of the "undocumented cash". Had they given plenty of notice then people would have just managed to spend it all.

In this case Jeff gave a bunch of notice and a huge grace period and as far as I know isn't putting any limitations on the amount that can be converted. So I think we are safe

I'm wondering how many of them will be intentionally non-converted to keep them as collectibles. I'm guessing quite a few - I'm trying to decide how many of the old versions I'll hold onto. I'm torn on it - part of me thinks they'll be cool out-of-print collectibles, and part of me thinks they will be absolutely worthless like Rumor tokens and Lore tokens.

For game purposes they will be worthless. If new collectors join the game, they may have some meta game worth.

I would think most of the people that would want to collect them will have them when they become obsolete. Will enough new collectors after that desire them? I would assume you will see a small number of those collectors and that the demand won't outstrip supply.
