It was implemented in VTD to reflect the physical challenge of sliding 2 pucks. You would have to read though this thread going back a few months to find when it was implemented.

Offhand should still be able to crit.


Ahh..so this is only for VTD. Not sure I agree with the whole physical challenge thing, our Monk is quite deadly with IRL sliding and usually puts both pucks quite close together and usually near 20 or 19 probably 85-90% of the time. But it is what it is, especially since Monks and Rangers are OP anyway.,

Maybe we need a VTD FAQ that discusses differences in VTD and IRL. Like also thinking about Rogue Flank. Which I'm not sure when that changed; two sessions back we had a brand new to TD person playing Rogue and with the Coach and DM in the Zoom room. I told the new Rogue that unfortunately Flank didn't work in virtual and both coach and DM acknowledged and agreed. Then this last session, Flank was now an uber-awesome thing, that Rogues were all doing. I was thinking when did this happen. I stay up fairly well on the forums, but had not clue about either of these changes.

But...what really matters in this thread is that on Android Monk and Ranger off hand crits are not counting as crits. (enlarged for emphasis)

I have tested both the Ranger and Monk on Android, and offhand critical hits are working correctly. Note that the Offhand Crit shows up lower than where the main hand critical shows up. It may be a scrolling question, but when I roll a 20 on the offhand To Hit, it does show the Offhand Critical result. Also note that the number in parentheses is the roll, and that needs to be a 20 (or 19 depending on tokens)

Facepalm! So sorry..yes it does appear if I had scroll down far enough to see it. I'll be sure to let me Monk and Ranger to scroll down a bit to not miss it! Sorry again for making you waste time looking.

Given how awesome the website and app developers are, I suspect we will see this at VTD 5a.

That said, I wouldn't necessarily expect it.

Agree. Every improvement feels like a gift.

Having said that there is typically a new release just prior to every VTD event if for no other reason than to support that event. I would not be surprised if it included the bead expansion, nor would I be disappointed if they weren't able to accommodate it in time.

I just assumed that Jeff would not have said that if he hadn't already gotten the thumbs up from the Devs. I could be wrong, but my guess is we see it in the next upcoming release, unless they run into issues.

But I have great faith in them!

Version 8.4.0 has been released for Android and IOS with the following changes:

1. Updated graphics and files for Ashwind Abbey
2. There are now 3 bead slots. Existing builds will show the bead in the Bead 1.
3. Skull of Cavadar and Teeth of Cavadar are no longer compatible in the same build
4. Cloak of the Third Eye now provides Psychic ability
5. Nightshade +2 Throwing Dagger now allows Rogues to sneak attack as a ranged attack
6.Arch-Mage Power: Conserve Spell now works on Android

Currently, there is nothing preventing players from continually throwing the same weapon in ranged combat every round even without returning, trusting the player to have multiple copies, or to drop back to the equip screen to change weapons manually.

Is it possible and hopefully not too difficult to add a triggered event when a weapon is thrown,
1 that generates a check on the player and reminder to change weapons if needed….
2 locking out ranged attack until the check is acknowledged and/or weapon has been changed
3. Takes the player to the equip screen to change weapons and then returns them to VTD?
