Unless the tokens arrive in Carbondale REALLY early (I wouldn't recommend dreaming of that happening), Origins will be the first event CoA can be exchanged. CoAs will be exchangeable via mail well before Origins.

It's too soon to determine what day/hours the transmute shop will be open at Origins, but I'm sure the rush to exchange CoAs will be taken into consideration when making that decision.

Token party in Carbondale!

Sounds silly, but it has been done, but not for a few years. Some games, some sorting of tokens, a bit of trading, and CoA exchange. Of course our east and west coast friends are a bit distant for that to be practical for them.

Or we use a voucher system like we do for the RoSP or like we did the year we ran our of Rings of Heroism.

I'm not that ambitious. A token exchange party would be fine by me.
D&D teaches all the important lessons in life - the low blow, the cheap shot, the back stab, the double cross. - Jerry Marsischky

Let them trap us. We have our swords. - Elric of Melnibone.

You try to get them to play the game, but all they want to do is play the rules. - Ardak Kumerian

I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness, nor the arrow for its swiftness, nor the warrior for his glory. I love only that which they defend - Faramir

It’s too bad I can’t just do the exchange at pax south, but no transmute room there and token probably would not be ready anyways.

PAX South,
Doesn’t need a full Transmute room,
How about a table in the TD area,
Maybe just a 4 hour window
The night before TD starts.
If they have them ready.

GenCon, been going 23 years Straight
True Dungeon, been playing 16 years Straight and all 4 events last year.

The primary issue is that we (almost certainly) won't have the new tokens before PAX South.
Have you looked it up in the TDb?

That would be nice if the CoA were ready.
I guess at the same time they could do CoSS and LoDS if they are ready as well.

As someone who volunteers and plays definitely hoping for flexible transmute time. Really don't want to send my only legendary and risk mail. Plus with Shadowskin that's a pricey bit of token.

On the otherhand could maybe have some sort of quick set packages by setting up a form ahead of time on who needs to trade in what and have them ready to go for quick trade in/out at Origins.
We're all the kind of people who enjoy the game on a "meta" level. We like talking about the game year-round. We buy tokens. We enjoy crafting. We get together during the off-season if we can. We are a very skewed demographic that way. -Raven

I wonder if this is going to be a trend. Will all the orange (and green) backed tokens get the RFID treatment? If so, it may be worth the band-aid ripping and get them all done at once instead of having a new token to trade in every year. I understand that the CoAs are a bit of a different beast than say a Fire Giant Strength Girdle, but just wondering where the trade-in line will be drawn.
