The Token Guide Compendium does have a definition of Soulforged (or soul bound) in the Artifact section on page 226:

Only one copy of the item will be made, and that item will be “soul bound to the player”
(i.e., only the player can use in the game).

That does seem pretty clear that it is only usable by that one player ever.

I like whoever came up with the idea of Soulforged legacy. Would be neat if a spouse, child, or grandchild could use a Soulforged item. But as they are very powerful would understand if Jeff said no to that.

As nice as that would be, these are powerful enough that I like the idea that they will eventually phase out of use.

My personal hope is that Jeff will decree

"The magic within Widseth's Dancing Blade ebbs away as it leaves it's true owners hand, passing the magic onto Bard's of a new generation"

And the next token cycle sees a rare 1 hand sword

Widseth's Dancing Sword - May perform bardsong and attack with this weapon

So the weapon lives on in a lesser form to the benefit of all bard players.

As someone who highly values the community i'd like to see Wid's legacy continued somehow. I really like this idea Alex and vote for it or some similar to it.
We're all the kind of people who enjoy the game on a "meta" level. We like talking about the game year-round. We buy tokens. We enjoy crafting. We get together during the off-season if we can. We are a very skewed demographic that way. -Raven

Although, I hope that the magic doesn't actually ebb away, and the sword is available for Dennis if he ever decides to do another True Dungeon run. :)

I definitely support the idea of it being something that can be passed down to children, etc.

Like Moon Blades in forgotten realms, can only be used by blood, and even then it doesn't always work. Maybe passed down to 1 inheritor

I would say, let the sword's power be only with Widseth. To make it passable is to dilute the soul forged items.

It's part of the history of the game, let it remain that.

But with that said, would be nice to see another round of soul forged tokens with the restriction of 1 soul forged token per player. To limit so those who already have one, can not have additional in their personal collection.

Some players already have more than 1.

Unless there are some I'm overlooking, the database doesn't list that.

Caitlin’s Charm / David Terry
Carter’s Eldritch Doubler / Jim Carter
Gearon’s Blessed Cloak / Gary Aswegan
Gertz’s Radiant Backpack / Scott Blair
Golden Apple of Eris / Kent Raquet
Kubu’s Coin of Coincidence / Joe Kubu
Lazlo’s Bag of Looting / Chad Delp
Smackdown’s Charm of Comraderie / Jeff Cunningham
Taborlin’s Coin / Patrick Rothfuss
War Maul of the Ancients / No One
Widseth’s +2 Dancing Sword

Now I'm not saying maybe someone has bought one of someone elses, but these only work for their forged owners. And each only have one. As I was suggesting. Forge new ones, but only one Soulforged token per person.

Smak is the owner of the war maul of the ancients. I think part of its power is that it’s details are hidden in tokendb.
