For anyone trying to crack the code here, everything you need to locate the page with transmuting information is present in posts on thread prior to this post.

FYI - I didn’t know anything about this till today - and didn’t use any information or memories about the dungeon to figure it out.

If you are stumped send me a PM and I’ll send you a clue.

I've been playing TD and collecting Tokens for quite a while now and I have absolutely no idea what any of the clues mean and until I read this post I had no idea you could even craft this thing. And you know what...I love it!! I love secret puzzles (not that I'm good at them) and I really hope TPTB keeps doing things like this. So cool when I hear about stuff like this. I'm glad no one's spilling the beans, let people try and figure it out, if they do great, if not oh well.

Seconded, IMO puzzles like this are part of the fun. Still everyone's entitled to their own opinion so I'm always happy to hear other perspectives.

I agree with it all. I think it's easy to see how a new player could be disillusioned by this.

It would be nice to hear from some newer players as to what they think.

To be honest, I was bothered by this at first. It kinda felt like an elitist club thing that gave the in crowd an advantage. But then I found the recipe, and unless I am way undervaluing the mystic orb, it isn't that amazing...like many high end transmutes; if you have the stuff to make it alreadybit is a nice option, but it isn't worth buying the components to transmute.

As for the feel bad before finding what a person is missing out on, I suggest that actual/official clues be provided for future secret things...unless I was SUPPOSED to use Google to find it?

I figured it out without using Google. Sounds like the official clues were in the v6c(?) dungeon though

That's correct, it was an in dungeon clue that didnt require any deep knowledge to solve but if you didnt do 6c or missed the sign you wouldnt know to look.

Also worth considering this was the 3rd path after last year's patron run and 8k bonuses that probably targeted a different crowd. Honestly the more I think about it this isnt that much different from seeding some into treasure boxes. Honestly I liked it more than the typical Christmas clue since more people got to participate rather then just whoever got there first.

I think the core problem (if any) is the power level of the token causing higher then normal feelings. Its probably most comparable to the boots of inferno step or soul coffer situations, except this time everyone had a few different shots at the token.

I thought it was a cool idea, but then I was with a party that found the clue. Although, it was a PUG group with a few newer players, so being a veteran player had nothing to do with finding or solving the clue. Honestly, all you had to do is what any self-respecting D&D player should do. Just tell the golem, "I'd like to search the room."

Really is not that much of a secret, either run V6C and found the clue there or just read this thread and give it a good think. Gosh, Ponyboy dropped a big clue just asking Tyler, "are you trying to make one?" I had no idea about it at all until I decided to check what all the excitement was with this thread.

I guess we have gotten to the point where we can't do fun surprises and puzzles anymore, cause someone might miss it. That makes me sad. Nothing elitist about it, just something fun, that anyone checking the forums can easily figure out. Doing something fun for the dedicated players is not the same as being elitist.

Also as Kent mentioned the recipe isn't amazing, it just fair.

I didn’t know about the secret until yesterday, and I was able to figure it out last night using only information in this thread.

I think some hidden games are fun, but there should be caution to not make too much into a “club” with secret handshakes and such. I don’t feel this raises to that level at all, however.

As for newer people, we should strive to include them, but on the other hand, I doubt too many new people’s game experience hinges on whether they can transmute this specific item or not. It’s not really a new person type of token, in my mind. Once their game experience hinges on whether if they can transmute a Mystic Orb, I would argue then they are no longer “new.” ;)

I'd have actually preferred that it be something like the Christmas Clue, that would reach a broader audience, for something like this. I'd have had no idea it existed if it weren't for this thread. Although I also feel that it's a pretty expensive recipe if you don't already have the ingredients. Since I'd have to buy most of the ingredients, I doubt I'll be transmuting any.
