If you feel slighted or hurt because it was a secret, I'm sorry you feel that way. But I have no intention of stopping secret or special things from happening in the dungeon. That just wouldn't be fun at all.

As one person who expressed a negative about this, I want to clarify a few things.

I never said these things shouldn't happen, that was all escalation in response to my/other criticism.

I did not know ponyboy was an official source. That actually does help a little. It might be good for forum accounts of TD officials to be obviously marked as such?

I did mention that once I knew the recipe, all the bad feeling was gone, because it was just an extra way to get it, but not actually better...just different. I think this aspect is GREAT, and would like to see more of (with a strong awareness of the token values...which is difficult, but there you go).

My ONLY complaint was that this was apparently available to everyone, BUT the clue was only given to a few people (in one variation of a single dungeon), AND they were specifically asked not to share the info.
Seriously, the only thing I would want changed is making the clue available...so, just announcing ponyboy's post as an official clue makes a difference.

Kent's post makes a lot of sense.

I think as long as people realize this post is literally TD making the recipe available to everyone, it should assuage any negativity associated with this.

TD made a neat puzzle. Only a few people got to experience it. Those people solved it.

Those people *actually* kept it secret like they were asked. <--- I don't think TD counted on this one

TD then made the puzzle available to everyone in this thread so nobody would be left out.

This thread is TD fixing what some people here have complained about. The people complaining just didn't realize it.

John you're awesome, as is TD and the puzzles. Keep em coming. We trust you to do what's right.

I have no complaints, it was a fun puzzle for people to solve, and TD (ponyboy) is on this thread making sure nobody is left out. I think the recipe is a bit too expensive for me, but I'm glad it's available for those that want to transmute it.

If there are any left after transmuting, maybe toss them into the treasure boxes this year? To me, treasure boxes are always preferable to mulching for neat tokens.

I've been following the recipe for months, but missed the last clue. The first few pages of this thread definitely gave me enough hints to find the solution though. I'm not making one, I already own own and it's an expensive recipe. That being said little things like this are why I love TD. It was a great puzzle and a fun reveal. I'm glad they did it this way, and wouldn't want to have just been given the answer.

I've probably told a dozen people about this already as an example of why TD is so awesome and why they should get involved.

So very glad that "slash Grunnel" didn't mean we needed to write a short story. I was halfway through a Grunnel/Gib Gub slash fic before I figured out the actual answer

An early version of the recipe did include sending in a hand-written note to Grunnel to be placed in their scrapbook. So a short story would have been awesome to see.
