I got a few messages on this comment and Trent and I were chatting last night so thought I would post to clarify. There are two versions of the 2019 Orb, one with the "2019" year stamped on the back and another with "Trade 1" stamped on the back. The TokenDB has a note on this.

And during my chat with Rob F. I discovered that some of the 2015 orbs are blank on the back, and some have 2016 on the back.

Ooof...

:)

That's an expensive conversation.

LOL yeah.

The orbs were tougher - need 8 for the collection to not turn in, 8 to turn in, and another 5 to turn in.

:)

Don't you mean 9 for the collection?

OMG I hope not!?!

Well I'm keeping a set of all 9.

So, do both of you have all the versions you want? Or how much extra are you offering for someone to swap with you if they have the one you are missing?

Fyi: My 2019 orb has 2019 stamped on back. My 2015 has no year stamped on the back. Sounds like those are the more common versions?

Since we are just turning in the orbs anyways, I have no problem just doing a straight trade with Trent to help him out… maybe have him pay postage? But seriously he is such a great ambassador for the game that I would not mind helping him out.

Same goes for the 40 tokens…. One for one to help him get his set. You just know he will help out newbies

Thanks kurtreznor and Mongo.

:)

From what I understand, the harder to find orbs are 2015 with 2016 on the back, and the 2019 with Trade 1 on the back.

I'll check mine as well, though I'll be waiting for SkullCon to swap

Made a rough tracker/trading post type thing for the tinkering bits

Let's say 4% tinkering goods in the overall treasure mix which is higher than I believe it will play out at.

At 4%, 1000 treasure drawings would be needed in an ideal world to get 40 but not necessarily all different.

Be interesting to know how many players get over 1000 treasure draws in a calendar year.

I've been watching that percentage as well.

The drop rate on these seems low to me. The players that are most likely to be collecting that much treasure in a year are the players who are least likely to need the token. I would guess that most players who get 1,000 pulls per year that are getting their +1 level from a set bonus, making it essentially slotless already.

Who is this token really for? I believe the players who could most use it won't be able to collect and make it, and the players who can most easily collect to make it don't need it and it will just be an expensive token for them to sell. (collectors who want one of everything being an exception)

I was excited about collecting to make one of these until I saw how few of these I'm likely to get during a year of play. I'll be lucky to get 40 of these at all, to even have the ability to trade for those that I need.

This is a missed opportunity in my opinion. It would have been an awesome thing to collect towards for everyone, but particularly for new and more casual players as it would give them an "over time" route to getting +1 level.

The solution to this would be to include these tinker tokens every year, giving players time to collect these regardless of their level of play. Perhaps that's the plan, and I misunderstood. It seemed like this was limited to this year though.

Another option would have been to include only 10 or 20 of these, and have other ones in subsequent years, making it a multi-year transmute. The ship has sailed on that one though.

I think this is a really neat idea and want to collect these, but I'm disappointed at how many treasure pulls it's going to take. For now I plan to keep any that I get, but holding out little hope that I'll collect enough for it to matter.

That's my opinion. (for now)

For what it's worth I played 37 times last year (V1-V6) and had just under 1,000 pulls. (high 900s)

And my +level is coming from a set bonus, so am I the target audience for this transmute?
