I agree. It would be great if there were an extra lot of those (and maybe Ink) in the treasure box mix. Boosting the ratio of Hide and Steel in the treasure boxes would offset the fact that nothing in them transmutes to Hide and Steel. I'd be OK if all Planks and Parchments were replaced by Hide and Steel in the boxes.

Kill two birds with one stone and make Golden Fleece exchangeable for some number of dwarven steel or minotaur hide? That gives a treasure box path to acquiring trade goods that are normally unavailable for transmute from treasure box items.

A way to exchange Fleece for trade 1s (say 2x Fleece for 10x of a trade 1?) would put a floor to the value of bits, and if a year was short on, say, ink or parchment, it wouldn’t be as big of a deal because bits could cover the gap.

I could get behind this as a solution.j

Edit - if this was implemented, I’d feel a lot better about TD removing the 10 packs from VTD and replacing with an extra treasure pull as suggested by Jeff last year

I view this the other way around. Having a 4C transmute using MB has been the ordinary course of things in the game for quite some time. Taking that away for 2020-2022 in effect, punishes folks who have been supporting TD by running VTD.

I would be in favor of being able to transmute/trade a GF for a 10x DS or a 10x MH or a 10x AI

Another option would be to be able to transmute/trade GF for GP--such as 6 GF for a 25K Bar.

Any of these options could have time limits (transmute window). This would alleviate the glut of fleece and promote more transmuting.

Just some thoughts . . .

One interesting idea I heard this weekend was letting some number of fleeces substitute for an UR in a transmute recipe.

Specific Monster Bits are already used in some transmute receipes.
Why not just expand this. I have long loved the idea of Monster Bits as spell ingredients. Why not use them like any good alchemist would to craft consumables?
Maybe Three Atar Horns and two Shard so Annihilation plus an Alchemist ink to craft a consumable Potion of Double Bull Strength +4STR?
Or Several Alien Protoplasms and an Idol Eye or so for a Potion of Invisibility?

The MBs could be used to craft cool consumables and be used in the process.
Or maybe a number could be ground to form the Dust of Focus (+5 Spell Damage - One Use)?

It would be thematically cool, and a way to use the excess MBs from VTD without off balancing the RTD players by crafting consumables.

I admit, until VTD I rarely got many MBs. Its been pretty cool.

I also think the vocal minority has the issues with the fleece. Just sell the stuff at $2-3 per bit and move on. Lots of players who don’t run 6 runs a weekend would thank you.
