Suggestion to TD to eliminate the resell issue and still make a unique Token for a Patron player:

Allow the person exchanging the Fragments or proxy Token to personalize the name of the transmuted Mark (and maybe even the image of the Mark) but not have it soulforged to them.

ex: One might name their Mark - Venger's Favor which is personal to them in some way. If they ever needed to offload it they could sell their Mark and someone would have a cool Venger's Favor Token that they could use in the dungeon.

Only downside here is Trent would have to spend oodles of cash to collect them all!

Why is that a downside...? 😈

Personally I like the idea. A soul forged tattoo makes sense. It’s good that this is being announced early so that people can decide now if they want to collect the pieces or not. Personally this makes the pieces more desirable and makes me want to collect a full set to get the finished token. If this had been announced a few years from now I would have a problem with it, but this gives people time to make a choice.

They may resell them to whomever they want. The crafter may choose the name to be printed on the token.

Pretty sure he's talking about selling completed tokens. Can't exactly craft 10 of these and then sell to new players if you don't know their name ahead of time.

You can sell the proxy to whomever you choose.

Now, once the item is soul forged, one won't be able to resell it I'm assuming.

The proxy only helps (but doesn't fully take care of the resell issue) as long as there is no expiration date on the proxy Token. I don't see that stated on the Patron page.

For me personally this won't be an issue as I stated I don't intend to resell mine. I'm sure most other players will want to hang on to theirs as well but there may be circumstances that arise when someone will want to offload it due to financial hardships, moving on from TD (why anyone would even think about doing this is crazy but it happens), etc.

At the end of the day, a soulforged Token that costs a player either 32K (4 8K's) or approximately 2K in the aftermarket (based on current auction prices of the fragment) is ultimately going to be worth zero dollars.

Rob - sorry, that's just not true. I am aware of at least 1 (and I think 2) soulforged artifacts that have sold. The big collectors are always interested in those kinds of things. Likely a bit less for this but that really depends on if each one has different characteristics to it beyond the name.

As for spending $32K - that assumes you take out the fragment and throw away the rest of the order. Not terribly realistic. Auction value is likely $500-$1000 each.

Not everyone transmuted dragon orbs either. It is of interest to quite a few people, though.

I agree, I kinda would like a unique soul forged item like TD had before, even if all these looked the same but there was a pool of powers we would have to choose 1 of as we forged it making it not only Soulforged to each player but each one gave a very slight additive to each players build. this way if I had the ability to soul forge 10 of them, they would all look alike but each would have a small unique buff. I could make them all slightly different allowing me to move my build around and still use them. When I started playing the Soulforged Items were over and I had always wanted to get one, just to have my name on a TD token and it actually do something different then the other soulforged items just sounds and feels so badass.

I have a few questions. Mostly due to the fact we have Patron runs vs non-Patron runs of dungeons. My plan is to be at Ring Con and probably buy/trade for the path pieces when I have extra funds.
1. Is this actually a Patron token or are we just using that because it takes an 8k to get the token?
2. Do I need to be a Patron during the year of the transmute to make the Proxy & Final token?
3. Do I need to be a Patron every year proceeding the transmute even if I bought the items second hand or was gifted them?

I apologize if this seems obvious I am just having a hard time divorcing Patron from Specific tokens that are not awarded during a Patron run since we called said tokens Patron Tokens for the previous runs.

Making each one have a unique power will make it harder on the app and web character creators.

Ok, so let me rephrase: These soulforged Tokens will eventually be worth zero dollars to every player in the game except for 1 or maybe 2 collectors. Or maybe 3 or 4 but your still talking less than 1% of the player base I'm guessing.

True on the 32K because you get other stuff, but if your buying just the Fragments and they run you $500 each you'll pay 2K for a Token that can never be resold (except to maybe 1 or 2 individuals).

See my post above on a suggestion that would allow these Tokens to always maintain their value to the entire player base and still be a cool unique item for the initial crafter.

The announcement helps current players but what about newer players entering the game next year or the year after? Or after 2026?
