TOPIC: E-bay Fraud

Re: E-bay Fraud 16 years 8 months ago #61

Denise books has relisted the scepter of dead and it is doing it an auction instead of the outrageous buy it now, and seems to have reasonable shipping charges. So hopefully it was just something pollywog in that batch of auctions and not something fishy.
But um, $20.41 to ship a token parcel post??

Yeah I've had encounters with fabric places that have really good prices for fabric by the yard but then they fleece you on shipping charges.
So it's not just on ebay you have to watch out for things like that.

It is very odd that the completed True Dungeon token auctions by denise-books don't show up when you do a completed search for True Dungeon auctions, nor do they show up when you look at completed denise-books auctions (although some of her other completed auctions do show up).

Any idea why?

My guess is because of the fact the items didn't sell.

No, even if items don't sell they show up under completed auctions, they just have the money in red type to show they didn't sell. Plus, she had some that did sell, and they aren't showing up either. Maybe there's just a time delay in the system or something, and they'll show up eventually.

I dunno. You seem to know more about ebay than I.

Well, I've done a lot of buying and selling on Ebay over the last 10+ years, but I'm sure there are lots of people that know more about Ebay than I do.

I've been getting an odd delay lately. Auctions don't seem to show up on the completed list for a 8 hour offset or so. That wouldn't explain why it dosen't show up over time though.

Hmmm. Well with all this talk I'm a little nervous. I did win 3 items from Denise books and a few other items from another seller...I wouldn't think it would be cost effective to counterfeit the lesser tokens..but I guess you never know.

I did email Denisebooks about the shipping charges though...she said it was an error and that shipping would be $2.00. I'll post here when I get the chips that I won to let folks know what's up.

Incidentally, has anyone actually seen a counterfeit token and, if so, what are the telltale signs of a fake?
