<br /><br />Shouldn't the value of the Black Lotus be 250 GP?  It is the most valuable Magic card after all, and it wouldn't be creep since there was a 250 GP item last year   =D<br />

<br /><br />Black Lotus isn't the most valuable card ever printed, unless you are discounting misprints, test cards, etc. Although I do find the token slightly humorous...its the one piece I've never owned.<br />

<br /><br />I was discounting misprints and test cards - I was just counting cards from regular runs.  I wonder what the most valuable card is counting those - it might be the Blue Hurricane from Summer Magic.

Mox Pearl, Mox Emerald, Timetwister and Library of Alexandria just carpeted my condo for me.  =D<br /><br />As for what is still valuable...Anything from summer magic is rediculous. Basic lands are about 40 bucks a piece, the rares are close to a grand in most instances, and the blue hurricanes and whatnot are 5x that probably.<br /><br />I saw a couple of those custom made Magic cards for Richard Garfield at GenCon. Someone wanted 2k for one of them, so that wasn't as much as I would have thought. also the 1999 World Champion Card is a one of a kind that isn't legal for play, but would be worth a ton to a collector.<br /><br />After that I might guess that the test prints from Exodus where the tested the first foiling processes would be pretty high as well. A foil Survival of the Fittest is tournament legal, but its still worth about 1200 bucks to someone on ebay.<br /><br /><br />So Jeff, Turn Black Lotus into an Ultra Rare, slap a 2500gp value on it, and make it not selectable for PYP, that should keep up the status quo.

I think a PSA 10 Beta Black Lotus is probably around $10K.  <br /><br />Don't forget some cards from the Portal/Starter sets, they're not the most valuable, but a lot are really rising in price due to rarity now that they are tournament legal, especially Portal 3 Kingdoms.  It has a couple of uncommons worth over $100.<br /><br />And -  :jacked: - My Fault!!

<br />Wording on Javelin of Lightning... "Adds 2pts. Shock damage to all" (all what?) and "I use only" (one use per combat, per adventure, ever?). Sorry, maybe someone has already addressed this elsewhere, but I just noticed it. I can't tell how it should be interpreted, so here are some optional wordings:<br /><br />Suggestions: <br /><br />"Adds 2 pts. Shock damage to <br /> first successful hit in combat." <br />(this solves any problem of how often can it be used, what it affects, etc.) This is good if the intent is to add 2 points damage once per combat to the monster struck.<br /><br />"First successful hit causes 2 pts.<br /> Shock damage to all opponents." <br />(this address the "to all", if the intent was to chain the lightning from the struck creature to all the monsters.<br /><br />"OOO Cause 2 pts. Shock<br /> damage to all opponents."<br />(this makes it a "one use" item, no hit in combat required. 3 uses)<br /><br />also the Darkwood Acorn... the color doesn't strike me as being "dark" wood. <br /><br />See, I didn't get that from the wording at all. :-P Jeff, can you clarify? You know, this reminds me of the taxonomy evolution that M:tG had in its early years. <br /><br />EDIT- Suggestion- "Successful hit causes +2 pts. Shock damage and destroys Javelin." ?
