TOPIC: Who got Ducked?

One of my friends gave me the best laugh all weekend on Sunday.

They were so thrilled with the ducks and the resultant uses I got this text...

"I just bought 7 dicks for next year."
followed quickly by
"DUCKS!!!"

On Thursday morning during my team's Lycan's Afoot run, one of my party got "ducked". Unfortunately it was nothing so benign as quacking. They got hit with massive damage that brought them from full to 1 HP. A joke is a joke, but this was not nice!

I wonder if you could get turned into a duck to cross the plank room?

Got one of these in my pack. Gave one of these to one of our party members after the run to give to a special TD player who couldn't make it this year.

When I started using this avatar back in 2004, and we did the first duck in the dungeon, I never knew it would turn into this. I may have to bring back the official duck sometime....

I was DM'ing the final room of Golembane puzzle, and I had many a player quacking by the halfway mark. It was hilarious! Someone sadly took our physical duck, though...

I ended up with 7 ducks by the end of the Con, and I hope to use them next year. They're very versatile!

Oh now that's a good one without being too nasty! Hats off to the DM who thought that one up.

That should not have happened. So sorry one of my DMs did that to you.
The duck thing is just supposed to be humorous, not harmful.

If you were not nightmare running that is well beyond the normal mode for any dm. Even if it was nightmare mode unless it was the last room and the puzzle was already solved or the monster already defeated that's pushing it beyond nightmare.

On a related note I recommend a secret mode to be established next year known as "The Duck Difficulty" in which the bard must quack, the spellcasters must quack, the rogue must use two fingers (one from each hand) to do the rogue boxes, and all communication between players must be in the format of quacking. To activate this a sacrifice must be made quack quack quack quack quack quack.

That does seem very excessive. Good natured jokes is one thing, but potentially screwing someone over on their dungeon run is something else entirely.

I got quacked in the switch room for Golembane. Was funny cause I tried to cheat and toss it away. My friend who can hear the sound of a clinking token from a mile away immedietly ran to grab it. The judge saw him running and ran after him. When I could stop breathing I fessed up and took the punishment. So when another person did the exact same thing about ten seconds later we all just looked him like "Are you dumb?" Was hilarious.
