TOPIC: 5-man Nightmare run(s) for 2014

I try to hit each dungeon once, so at least 4 runs.

I understand the concern over "taking" slots from new players, but as you said, there were tickets available right up to GenCon. It should be fine.

This sounds like a cool idea Raven! I don't want to make commitments for any times this early in the season, but I'm definitely interested if you'll have me.

I also try to run each Dungeon once - Gotta see all the rooms! - so my TD will involve at least 4 runs.
I like to get 3 copies of each Completion token too (1 to keep, 1 for my friend Myke, and 1 for trade-bait or transmuting), which generally means 6 runs if they're all Nightmare, or more runs if some are on less lethal settings.
Also gotta max XP (yes, I am an XP whore, I admit it!) so that involves at least 1 Hardcore/Nightmare run through each side... but that is pretty much a given when running each side 3 times.
Add a couple True Grinds to round things out, and my TD time is pretty full.

Also thanks to Adeya & Jim C for expressing interest. We've got a lot of very effective players throwing their hat in the ring, so I'm sure once Registration comes around and we slog it out with the system to see which slots we can get, we'll be able to assemble a great team.

As for Laz as Paladin... we all know that's not gonna happen. Luckily he has plenty of other options if he can make the run. (Plus I have a certain Paladin in mind, if her volunteer schedule allows her to make the run.)

I think that you could maximum your option by a 6-man Nightmare instead of 5-man Nightmare and here is the reason what is because at times TD events take advantage of the two extra character for over flow where by you have in the waiting list to apply their mistake or don't have times for other runs their were on. So they swift these player to available spot for the 11th or 12th spot on the group of 10. By taking advantage of the full 12 character present and able to present at least the Cabal item together and/or at least represent one fighter from the selecting group will fine. Then if you were to split to the group by 3x by 3x is a fair challenge in itself. You are right about having the Bard as the main option in every runs. But having a 6-man give you a select group from where you can build your optimal strength from. Instead of the same optimal effect from chosen given.

Like the Bard, the Cleric, the Dwarf Fighter with the other 3 are the Druid, the Wizard and/ or having Elf Wizard for the full effect of the Cabal or having the Paladin as a main tank with little healing ability.

Or like having the Bard, the Cleric and Paladin with the other 3 are the Druid, the Wizard and the Elf Wizard. So that you are not limited on option, but gain one more option to better suit for the runs that is or going to be.

To obtain the last two tix is at the day of the event start to begin at next year at Gen Con which I have done a couple of times this year. With genetic tix only that begin day of the before event start it.

Little known fact is that not use for the Bard about is that they are known for using tokens Scroll from Arcane, Divine and All. When I don't sing with Widseth's Mystical Lute, then I casting a blessing on the group and from then on I'm casting Arcane spell from 12 pts.-10 pts.-8 pts. damage toward the creature with no save possible, due to the thanks from the rare tokens collection over the years. Then if someone is hurt or taken damage, then I heal them from the given Divine spell for 10 hp.-8 hp.-5 hp. from the rare and uncommon tokens.

And Raven, you don't have to ask me twice about this idea of your because I'm more willing to do it on the second flat. I will appreciate a confirmation that you will accept for one thou.

I agree, Kaledor. I can't begin to think what kind of a nightmare it would be (ha ha), if we could only run Nightmare during scheduled Nightmare runs. Those slots would all be gone *so* fast, and people would be shouting and complaining that they couldn't get into the runs they wanted. By letting a full group choose their difficulty level if everyone is in agreement, we have the flexibility to do this sort of run whenever we can manage to grab a slot of 10 tix.

Fighting the Registration System to get a full slot which coincides with our free times.. that is gonna be the real challenge.

Eversuede: I'm not sure I understand what you mean by optimizing with 6 players. Yes, we could split the group into 3 and 3, but TD doesn't tend to split the party often, so I don't think that's an issue. And yes, I totally agree that with 6 players we have more classes to make use of Cabal bonuses, but if we wanted to have more classes & cabal potential, we'd run with a full 10. Cutting the group in half is meant to be challenging, not optimized. Plus each player is covering 2 full tickets that way... we don't have to mess around with who pays more or less, and which people get the spare bracelets and who goes without.

I think it would be cool to run with you some day. I have no clue how timing & schedules will work out, but my preference would be to run with you in normal 10-man groups a couple times before trying to put together a 5-man Nightmare with you, so I can get used to your playing style & know whether it would be a good match for mine on a 5-man.

That said, who knows what next year will bring?
