Do you mean Elevate Damage? If yes, how would you revise it to make it useful?

My suggestion was to have it also add any of the player's damage modifiers (Focus Rings, etc.). Then you are also doubling up on that damage. Still not as good as casting Ray of Shock or Stone Storm twice, but definitely an improvement in the cases I outlined.

Or replace it with this:

Energy Echo: Does 10 Sonic damage to one target. Adds 10 points of damage to the next spell you cast.

I played the Templar on Sunday. Really, the only benefit I got was that it freed up a charm slot and still got the +1 level boost. I slid twice and got 18+ crits, but the monster died from the plethora of wounds simultaneously that the room DM never tallied the crits I scored.

Overall I thought the abilities for my typical classes were "meh" enough that it didn't seem to justify being able to do it only once per year. I also felt the "6" assassinate on the Rogue's PRC was a little counterproductive as it meant you had to use a weaker weapon than you might normally use to have a chance of assassinating. I would have preferred a rewrite to simply say if you get the max damage on your wheel AND a crit...

Yeah, I remember this discussion. Sadly, as written, the spell sucks :(

I thought Elevate Damage was great. I used my Cabal set to cast it for free on the first round, along with some other spell (probably MM), then got to add 15 points damage the next round - pretty kewl, IMHO.

Energy Echo sounds great as well! You could also write it as follows: Does 10 points of sonic damage to one target. The target takes an additional 10 points of sonic damage the following round.

That would reflect the "echo" ability.

But you probably would have been better off casting a Stone Storm as your extra action and then the Magic Missile.

But if you had cast Stone Storm the first round instead of Elevate Damage, there might not have been a second round. And were you cutting yourself like Adeya? Because that is one of the conditions where ElDam can be good (if your spell damage bonus is 7 or less).

Yes, I was using the MEC, but not every spell.

"EIDam?" Is that "Elevate Damage?"

Does Elevate boost BASE damage? Thought it was just added damage and wouldn't be doubled by MEC

I could have sworn the MEC doubled all damage, but the Token DB tells me I'm wrong. So that is another strike against ElDam.

I normally play Ranger, so I played Warden on 2 of my combat runs in each dungeon.

For Returning Ammo I wish I had the forethought to bring some ammo with me in the dungeon. I simply forgot to prep any for use to carry in with me. Typically it wasn't needed because of my high to hit values, and most of the time we were using melee.

I would think that a Warden would have a higher to hit on their Sharpshooter... maybe Elite Sharpshooter +6 instead of the normal 4.

Zephyr Speed is nice, I'm sure it will come in handy in the future but since this year there were no environmental effects in play, it didn't really excite anyone. But it does allow me to use the Boots of the North Wind in place of the Boots of the Marauder for added melee elemental damage. which is quite useful.

Losing the ranger heal was a surprise. I would have thought Wardens would be better healers and take into account the bonus healing from the eldritch set.

Warden's Boon, should just be both STR and DEX instead of either or... it leads to too much confusion and takes time to decide that would be better suited to killing. It also makes it less useful for players who like to gear evenly melee/ranged for any encounter.

Thornskin should specify what kind of retribution damage, or is all retribution damage meant to be eldritch?

Maybe I'm just greedy :P

Simple question... by using a voucher, players are automatically given a 5th level Character card, so those players who are playing a prestige class no longer need to provide their own +5 level through the ring, medallion, charm, or might set?

Correct.

One of the coolest parts of the Prestige classes was that they effectively had a slotless Level boost :)
