I think this may be the single most important token - especially at UR for survivability on higher difficulty levels.

It also scales like a dream - it’s as good in a red build that adds a Cloak of Shadows to its +2 Cloak of resistance as it is in a legendary build where it allows you to pick your favorite two of:

Pharacus’ +6 saves
Greater +4 saves
Cloak of Shadowskin

If we can’t have a striaght reprint I’d suggest putting in a similar effect in another token.

I’d also like to see a nice back slot UR this year - it’s been a while - this would make a nice 1-2 punch if we get that.

I like this suggestion, but would also request that the Shadow Cloak is reprinted too, as they don't seem to be very available

Tossing something out there, and I'm not necessarily saying this starts in 2019, but being 5 years after 2014 it might be good timing.

Starting in 2014 some Legendaries required one or more URs in addition to the underlying relic. Jeff has already said the relics will not be reprinted, but perhaps the URs should be? Arguably these tokens will be in lower supply since some were used up in crafting relics. There are also probably people who have the relics who need the URs and this might encourage some more Legendary creation.

If so, the URs in 2014 that were part of a Legendary recipe were: Viper Strike Shirt, Viper Strike Belt, +2 Sacred Sling, and Stu-pendous Pendant. Out of that list, I would say Viper Strike Shirt is the only one that is easy/cheap to find. Stu-pendous Pendant is not too bad. Viper Strike Belt gets pretty tough. And +2 Sacred Sling is almost impossible to find.

With the addition of epic this year I see this reprint as a token that starts people on the path of trying hard difficulties and thus getting deeper into the game in many aspects.

Plus, you could argue that if a token is overpowered, it actually balances the game by reprinting it and getting it into the hands of more people. It makes the overall player base more balanced. For instance, if Mad Evoker's Charm were reprinted, Nightmare and Epic could be designed assuming most magic users at that level are using it.

I don't think we should be making assumptions about builds. Particularly at the high levels, we should be able to encourage build variability, not hammer everyone over the head with "you have to use these tokens, or you're clearly inferior"

Or to reprint the +2 fang and plan to print the belt and shirt over the next few years.

The reason would be with the addition of a new viper strike pants last year, that will still be in print, this will allowe new players access to what is probably the best all around melee gear.

Also, by reprinting the viper strike fangs we can hopefully forestall power creep that would eventually overtake them.

I’d also be interested if the pants, shirt, and belt could have a relic level transmute a-la charm of awakened synergy - otherwise I don’t see much call for the pants goin forward.

So if the viper set cam back through, would you open the relics up again as that's new territory.

It would be fine with me, but I don't think it's necessary.

Right now the back slot is purely defensive. I don't like thematically making it offensive.

Frankly the last few years have been pretty good to the "of focus" crowd - but if we need more I'd put it in Ioun, or a UR lenses of focus, or an improved Ring before the back slot.

Reprinting the +2 doesn't imply we'd reopen the relic recipe. The +2 isn't an ingredient in the legendary. The belt and the shirt are more likely to be a problem if you have this concern, as they are ingredients in the legendary.

I have no problem reprinting ingredients though.

No reprints. Come up with 20 cool new Tokens. It can be done!

Jeff has stated that Relics will not be reprinted in their same form.

With the evil outsiders, maybe the celestial set needs a reprint?

I think the Cabal set needs reprinting. I think it would be a very interesting way to go a different path from the wizards have gone last couple of years
