I honestly didn't like it too much before, but certainly won't bother getting it now. I will keep using Charming Crown on the classes that can't use the Redoubt Helms, and on Rogue I will use the new Hood of Shadows (unless I do the transmute).
Classes Played: Barbarian (65 times), Monk (56), Ranger (33), Rogue (25), Cleric (21), Fighter (13), Druid (12), Paladin (11), Dwarf Fighter (10), Bard (7), Elf Wizard (2), Wizard (2)

+15 HP swing going from UR to Eldritch. Lose 1 melee to-hit, but damage is a wash if you include the set bonus. Even the min-maxer in me is not going to take all those negatives for just +1 to-hit.

In fact I doubt I would keep any of the UR Kilts. I had been collecting an extra set just in case I wanted to max one stat, but it's probably not worth it. So now I'm thinking I will just transmute both sets into 2 Eldritch Kilts. In that regard, I guess the Kilts are a success.

Yeah, i know. After all the debating i was worried that i might be tempted to not transmute all my kilts (i will have 4 sets), but the negatives on the STR kilt are crazy bad. The CON kilt isnt worth keeping since you can still get 15hp. Only the DEX is a question, but giving up 2 DEX for 10hp? Done. In fact, can i do that again? And again? And...uh, how much DEX do i have?

I'm with you, the DEX one is the only question. If I want DEX for a ranged build (I have a ranged ranger build with Io's bow), I'd rather just have the Eldritch Kilt because the set bonus would give +1 ranged damage. It's much harder to get ranged damage than ranged to-hit so it's an easy trade there. If I need DEX for a stat requirement (currently I don't have Thor's), there are enough other ways to get the DEX.

Eternal Ice Crystal should have "All except Ranger" just like the Rare Brawler's Mug (Rangers must slide two weapons in melee, this is not a weapon).

I would also consider adding Monk to the list of people not allowed, if not then think about how to deal with this sleaze:

Monk equips Eternal Ice Crystal in character builder, gets +3 to damage on the party card. Then in the dungeon Monk switches to 2 Flurry of Blows compatible weapons and gets the damage boost anyway (since it's on the party card).

I'm with both of you. Got two sets of kilts thus far thinking I might have to save one, but am leaning heavily now toward transmuting for two eldritch kilts. Yeah, dex is the only one that hurts a little.

Jeff, thanks for the changes on the Hat and Kilt.

Is anyone else tempted to outfit a party with 9 or 10 Fate Crossbows and see if you can slide a 20 out of the group every turn to make sure the monster never gets a single attack? :)

The UR Lute of Fury provides +1 damage relative to uncommon Lyre of Rage, and +1 to hit from common Pixie Lyre.

I think the UR version only could go +1/+2 - basically trading +1 to hit for the abilities of Widseth's/Briano's/Amorgen's.

I'd leave the transmuted versions alone.

Nah, there will just be a stun immune monster (or more) every dungeon.

I dont know that I'm convinced it's worth spending the money to upgrade from the con kilt. Seriously maybe I'm just not seeing whatever it is you guys are. I mean I'd probably do it at 4/6/6 because those numbers would feel like an upgrade but as is it's just kinda meh. Maybe if it had the picture from the str kilt, I dont know. I'm trying to get on board with being excited about it.

If nothing else, kilt and teeth will get you +1 level, which frees up some kind of slot.

If you switch from the CON kilt to the Eld Kilt, you get -1 FORT, and +2 AC, REF, and ranged to HIT. Also better for any DEX required tokens.

I think the +6 would be equal or "less good" than the RoSP. I mean those stats equal +6 are not the best allocated and it is a seven year transmute.
