AUCTION IS OVER. WE FAILED TO FUND IN TIME.
I tried to Start this about a month ago, but then there was a sudden death in my family and I Canceled it befoRe there were any bids. I dOn't know if it wiLL funD, but a few friends encouraged me to try, sO here it goes. I ran 3 8K auctions earlier this year and I finally got a Golden Ticket for GHC. In appreciation for the many bidders Who supported those auctions, I decided to ruN an appreciation auction. And with TD's announcement that the last day to make 2022 tokens purchases coming up, there is not much time to purchase those 2021 URs and Rings of the 5th Circle.
Unlike previous auctions, every WINNING bid in this auction has a chance to win a Golden Ticket!. If this auction is funded, and if there is a Golden Ticket in the order, then every winning bidder has a chance to win THAT GT! Since the minimum bid increment is $0.25, every $0.25 you pay for your winning bids gets you approximately a 1 in 32,000 chance of winning the possible GT (there is usually some under/overage). The un-boxing of the order will be done live on Discord. If there is a GT, then a spreadsheet of the winners and their numbers will be published, then a random number generator on Discord will be rolled by a neutral party to select the winner.
ALSO, the top 8-9 winning bidders (by $) will be awarded the random PYP's -- with the choices picked from the top winning bidder down. The last random PYP will go to the winner of a puzzle hidden within the auction at some point (must have a winning bid to qualify). If there is no winner to that puzzle then it will go to the next highest winning bidder.
I am augmenting nothing. This is a true 8K auction in which the community members either fund it or they don't!
In order for the auction to be successful, the grand total of all bids above the minimums must meet or exceed that $8,000. If the auction fails to meet the minimum by the end date, the auction will end with no winners. Bid high, bid often!
Bidding is eBay style:
◦ Bids are sent to me through Private Messages in these forums.
◦ You must bid at least the current bid + the bid increment.
◦ Bid increment on items currently at less than $10 is $0.25.
◦ Bid increment on items currently at greater than or equal to $10 and less than $20 is $0.50.
◦ Bid increment on items currently at greater than or equal to $20 and less than $50 is $1.
◦ Bid increment on items currently at greater than or equal to $50 is $5.
* Also, bids must be in a multiple of the bid increment of your maximum bid. So if the bid is currently at $49, New bids of $50 or $55 are acceptable, but a bid of $51 is not.
◦ The winning bid amount is the lesser of the (the highest non-winning bid + the bid increment) and the highest bid.
◦ In the event that multiple bidders all bid the same highest amount, the earliest bid will be the high bidder.
* Bids on 10x TG tokens have bid increments 10 times those listed above.
This auction style rewards early bidding, as the earlier bids win ties and people must raise the bid by at least the bid increment to take the bid from you. Since the price is set by the 2nd highest bidder, you may enter your top bid initially and never overpay.
The goal is for this auction to end before 9/20/22. Bidding ends 24 hours after funding has been achieved. There will be no extensions (aside from technical difficulties). Any last-minute changes in high bidders will not extend the auction.
Payment is required through PayPal via Friends and Family (I am not selling you tokens. We are buying this 8K together). Winning bidders are responsible for sales tax on their winning bids. All winning bids will have 48 hours after close of the auction to provide payment. Any unpaid item(s) after allotted time will defer their winning bid and the next highest bidder will be offered the item at their maximum bid price of the item(s).
To me this seems like a fun auction and I want to be involved too. I will place a few bids and these bids will be announced to 3 neutral parties. These bids will not be advanced so there is no advantage on my part. These bids will not be entered at the start to hide which bidder is me.
Hopefully all orders will be delivered at Gamehole Con. But for others, shipping within the US on all winning bids is $5 for 1 to 6 tokens (First Class mail), $9.45 for 1 to 150 tokens (Priority), $16.10 for over 150 tokens. International shipping is at the actual cost of shipping. Shipping will occur within 1 week of receiving the tokens from True Dungeon, though probably much sooner than that. Like Casey did, I will be listing the x10 TG tokens separately so I don't over-charge on shipping. If you request these be singles, you might be bumped into a higher shipping cost.
TRANSPARENCY: What will I get from this auction? In the 24 hours after the auction ends I get the difference of the funding and the cost of the 8K (usually 0 - $200). That could also be a loss covering for bidders who do not pay on time. I get to meet more TD players for those picking up their orders at GHC. I am sure there are other non-tangible benefits such as name recognition, blah, blah, blah. The goal is to get the tokens we want and to support TD.
This auction needs to fund by 6 PM on 9/20/22 to be successful. The last bid will be accepted 24 hours after the auction is funded.
Sadly we did not fund. We ended at $7,362.00 of of the $8,000 goal (92.03%).
