TOPIC: A Quest for Heroes! – American Cancer Society Benefit "Cubes Cubed" $470 Raised!

A Quest for Heroes! – American Cancer Society Benefit Interactive Event 1 year 5 months ago #61

You do indeed hold the Ioun Stone. Joshua has learned from his mistakes by gaining an epiphany! He uses the prism to look through to the panel and this is what he sees:

While Joshua is looking on, Charles presses the buttons described and finds that the first button does not depress at all and neither does the second one. A radiant yellow aura surrounds him as he presses the first and then as he presses the second his finger burns and smokes as if dipped in acid.

Bold as brass (must be the Barbarian) Ian then steps up and without even taking the prisim in hand he presses the buttons in the listed sequence. Forming the pattern seen below...

The side walls of the panel dissolve into fine powder leaving a large opaque green gooey cube suspended in mid-air. Upon the side of the cube facing you is an outstretched hand-shaped pseudopod. A dark red colored number 100 appears upon the face of the cube. It is difficult to tell but it appears that potentially there are objects suspended inside the cube.

I am a Barbarian, I'll high-five the hand and once again probably watch people laugh as I writhe in pain

Charles sees the sign and is like, "Yeah! What's happening man?..." Giving the hand a solid high five, he screams out in pain as his entire hand sizzles and burns from what seems to be an acid touch. The smell of burning flesh fouls the air in this place.

Tyrael The Just, Likely the Paladin going by his name, sees what happens to his college and decides better than to give it a good shake...

A fellow party member, shrouded in mystery, carefully places some gold coins in the outstretched hand. The hand closes around the coins, retreats back into the cube, then reappears holding a small red block emblazoned with the number "1" on all 6 sides.. The number 100 flashes bright for a moment then goes back to its normal sparkly red color.

You dig around in your gaming dice set for the perfect d6. It is the dusty white bone one with raised pips. It seems to weigh the same amount as the cube in the hand might as you carefully examine it. Tossing it back and forth between your hands in a practice of dexterity. The time comes where you feel like you are going to be successful and you take the step to swap them. As you do, being extremely carful to not touch the hand, you are quite surprised by the actual weight of the cube. It's quite a bit heavier than it looks. The green hand retreats into the cube and within seconds the die comes rocketing back out of the center of the cube nailing you directly between the eyes leaving 6 red spots and a square edged scar in it's place. A trickle of blood run slowly down your nose and drips silently on to the floor at your feet.

You can't help but notice while examining the block you picked up that the color is quite remarkably similar to the blood stain you are now leaving on the floor.

The hand reemerges, empty and waiting. The 100 on the cube flashes brighter again, seemingly more insistently than the last time.

The hand accepts the Paladin's offering and retreats inside the cube to reappear only a few moments later with three more red blocks similar to the first you now posses. One block has the number 5 inscribed on all sides while one has the number 0, and one has the number 2, also inscribed with the same number on all sides. Within the gooey cube you begin to see the form of a dark red cube float to the forefront face of the cube as if beckoning you. The outstretched hand forms 4 identical depressions within its palm.
