I have received the 8k box from True Dungeon and everything is packaged up and ready to go to the auction winners (except the 3 of you that chose to have event hand-off instead).

We'll see what the future holds in regards to auctions... I may run another one!

Apologies for the overdue update, but I DID promise that one random person that was completely outbid would be receiving a care package, so here goes:

KINGPRIEST OF ISTAR, COME ON DOWN!

Please send me a forum PM with your shipping information and I'll get this package sent out shortly. It's not much, but I hope you appreciate it anyhow :)

Behind the scenes, I ran down the list of bidders and removed anyone that won at least one item. This left me with my list of people that were entirely outbid. In order to ensure randomness, I set them up as a bracket of sorts... pairing the contestants, I rolled 5d10 for each and summed the rolls. Any roll of a 20, in the sense of D&D weirdness, was an automatic victory unless their foe also rolls a 20. Similarly, a '1' means defeat unless their foe also rolls a '1'.

ex:
Berem Everman and Magius square off.
  • Round One. Berem rolls a 14, Magius rolls a 15.
  • Round Two. Berem rolls a 20, Magius rolls a 3.
  • no need for rounds 3 - 5, as Berem rolled a 20 and Magius did not.

ex2:
Berem Everman and Kingpriest of Istar square off:
  • Round One. Berem rolls a 16, Kingpriest of Istar rolls a 10.
  • Round Two. Berem rolls a 10, Kingpriest of Istar rolls a 6.
  • Round Three. Berem rolls a 11, Kingpriest of Istar rolls a 11.
  • Round Four. Berem rolls a 1, Kingpriest of Istar rolls a 20.
  • no need for round 5, as Berem rolled a 1 and Kingpriest of Istar rolled a 20. I believe this means that the Kingpriest smashed Berem into smithereens!

Sure, there ARE other ways to do this but I wanted to give some flexibility and not just pull a name from the proverbial hat. And why not pseudo-gamify it in the process?

Thanks again, all.

Watch for another auction in mid to late March, I think. Just like this one, I'll let it run for several weeks. No clue what, if anything, we'll have as "add-ons" but we'll see!
