Maybe this has been asked and answered. If so I missed it

Do we need to register for the virtual GenCon to participate in virtual TD?
D&D teaches all the important lessons in life - the low blow, the cheap shot, the back stab, the double cross. - Jerry Marsischky

Let them trap us. We have our swords. - Elric of Melnibone.

You try to get them to play the game, but all they want to do is play the rules. - Ardak Kumerian

I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness, nor the arrow for its swiftness, nor the warrior for his glory. I love only that which they defend - Faramir

Brilliant! I support this.

As much as I love this idea, if that sheep's going to be 10x as tough as the average monster to compensate.... I'm going to let others charge into melee first

Just mildly confused with the wording.

I'm curious also how less than 10 monster tokens will be replaced by Golden Fleece. Perhaps it will be certificates that say something like "3/10th of a Golden Fleece" if your treasure pulls would have had three monster tokens.

Maybe just maybe extra fleeces were added to treasure boxes and not monster bits. Probably not in the same
Monster
But ratio. But also probably not 1;10 ratio either. Somewhere in the middle

Chad, after reading it again, I think you're right. Golden Fleeces in the treasure box instead of monster tokens, at 10% or maybe higher of the amount of monster tokens that would have been there.

Yeah - this was done at GHC I think one year when the monster trophys would have been spoilers.

It seemed to be: for every 10 monster bits we would have added, add 1 GF instead.

(I don't think TD specifically explained how it worked) - but definitely there were GFs in the mix.

Fluffy wool armor 100 : has DR equal to fluffy wool armor level. Piercing weapons only suffer half the penalty. When a player hits with slashing or fire, instead of dealing damage, they may reduce the golden sheep fluffy wool armor by 5.

Scared to death : each round, 1 player may try to scare the golden sheep, roll a D20, on a 20 the golden sheep dies.

i have no knowledge of this(or anything) but that is what I took away

*Special Treasure Generators will have their monster ingredient tokens proportionally replaced by Golden Fleece tokens.

The sheep also ignores tokens which grant immunity to surprise. Being suddenly attacked in the middle of a dungeon by an angry and surprisingly buff sheep falls well beyond the limits of what simple magic can predict.....
I play Rogue. Occasionally I even play Rogue well.

I got the email while I was out of town, but now that I'm back, I'll add to the chorus of "REALLY EXCITED BY THIS!!" I have no clue how it's gonna work, and I may need to get myself a camera for my computer, but I am going to do everything I can to make this work, from my end.

I have tons of questions, but I think Wade posted them all already, so I'll wait for TPTB to answer them when they know the details : )

Wade Schwendemann wrote: I'm sure these will all be addressed, but as I think of them
1. How many different "runs" will there be?
2. Will they be the 2020 runs, or will those be saved for later? <-- A: Completely different run
3. If not the 2020 runs, will they be "new," "redux," or perhaps older runs for those who missed them?
4. Will the completion tokens be those planned for GC 2020, or something else?
5. Will Ghosting be allowed?
6. Will the "treasure" sent be drawn already, or treasure chips?
7. Will the timing of runs be the same (every 12 minutes)?
8. What will the hours be?

Again, I realize that many of these things are TBD, and others may be, "it depends"

I'm just excited to get some form of TD to look forward to!

You mentioned potentially getting a camera for your computer. I know my work has been trouble finding those in stock at reasonable prices. If you (or others) run into that problem, something to consider is picking up a digital camcorder. Even many of the ~$70 models have a webcam mode. They take up a little more space than a regular webcam, so placement might be a little more effort. But they should work just about as well.

I've also seen some people have success by logging into a Zoom meeting from both their computer and their cellphone. They use their cellphone for the camera and microphone (and sometimes speaker), and then their computer for being able to see things on a larger screen.

Glad you're able to join in on this! :)
