BIG UPDATE: Two New Dates Added! <Read Me 4 years 4 months ago #61

Hi Jeff,

A) With 9 more VTD events.. Has there been any more thought about how to handle shipping to Canada, or worldwide?

B ) Would it make sense to keep track of treasure/swag accumulated and then after a player has 4 (or x?) VTD runs complete (whenever they've covered international shipping), and can make a request to "cash out" their accumulated swag?

C) Is XP going to be via redemption card? If so I think it would be great if we moved to an automated system for VTD, where we could link our TD.Event to our TD player accounts and automatically see our history.

As always, thank you for the hard work you and your team creating such amazing events. My hats off to the TD team for being able to respond and put together VTD, it was a fun event and I look forward to the next events.

Good idea. I also wonder if they can take td.events and have a "bank" of treasure draws...it accumulates there...and when the user says"distribute"...it will send an event notice to HQ to fill the draws and ship to the address. This could REALLY reduce the burden on this front.

Will TD will be sending out new codes for Patrons and AG to purchase tickets early? Or do we use the same codes as before?

Excellent question. If they just put them under the same event then you don't need a new code.

By the time we get back to ATD (Analog), I am going to have a good pile of consumable tokens to give away. There will be some healing, but most will be dusts for spellcasters. Doing one envelope per token would be a lot, so I thought I could combine them, maybe three each. I'd have to mark that they would be best for spellcasters.

Any chance of creating a treasure draw box for new players at check-in, or a supply for coaches?

Then again, maybe there wouldn't be that many consumables available. Have other people been using them?

I've chosen to do one envelope per run. So I'll hand one out to a newbie for any consumables I use on V1a, another one V1b...etc.

We followed our usual trend of using zero consumables on our run, I don't even bring many. I've got my "utility belt" consumables in case of emergency, like Potion Death's Door, Slow Poison, and Stone to Flesh. :)

Odd place for this discussion, but I have a bag of healing potions we used in 1 room. I planned to just split them up, as I except to use the same amount or more healing potions for the next run. By the time V5 is done I expect to have quite a few. I just hope they are used by whomever gets them and not traded or sold.

I would love to be able to turn them into TD and have them make a treasure box out of them. Oh, you only have 3 treasure? Here is a special token to draw X tokens out of the VTD box

Hmmm it might not be a special draw. I am burning common potions as well.

I’m not sure if TPTB would agree but as a coach, it’s probably ok to give them to the coaching team to hand out. It’s easier for us to tell who the newbies are.

I have something in the neighborhood of 20-30 I've used (rares, condensed healing, etc.) I have been giving thought as to which of the following is the best option for when we return in person:
1. Option 1: I hand 1 random new player a decent sized bag of tokens. Based on going 5 runs each of all 5 VTD modules, it should be around 100 tokens. That might really make someone's day (or just confuse them greatly);

2. Option 2: I create 25 bags of 5 tokens each to hand out to new players. This has a downside of taking time in person handing these out unless I can convince someone handing out 10 packs to slip one of these into a number of new player runs.

3. Option 3: I figure out the value of the consumables used (probably around $200-$250 by next August) and hand out a single 5 point relic like the +3 holy avenger/necklace of the spirit drake/lute of fury or something like that based on that player's preferred class.

I am leaning towards option 3 as that is most likely to convince someone to return since they would have an item they could build on in the future that really makes a difference in their class. It also means carrying fewer pounds of tokens :)

Thoughts?
