Just to clear this up - all donations are being matched currently, so half of the total was direct contributions, the rest is matched. It's still insane the amount of money the TD team has raised however.

Yeah I am not certain which is the correct interpenetration. And I don't think I am the only one.

How does the token thing work? Was I supposed to receive an additional email from TD , or is that yet to come?

The site language was 1 token per $30 donation. I suppose someone could do multiple $30 donations (if you do, please accept the fees for processing so as not to stick those on the charity) the way it was worded.

At the level I did, I did it twice - once for myself and once for my wife.

Ditto.

$45,000 now! Really great!!

I wonder how that supply of 500 Honeycombs is holding up. :)

Well depending on who you interpreter it (and I think some did do it this way) they would be gone. If it is 1 per every 30 donated. I admit I thought it was that way, but re-reading it I am not certain.

I interpreted it as 1 per $30 donation, but not two for $60, or 3 for $90.

E.g. you could make multiple $30 donations and reap the reward multiple times, but otherwise no.

I took this interpretation because Rule #1 is:

1.) Every $10 you donate gets you ...yada yada yada...

And Rule #2 says:

2.) By donating $30 or more you will be guaranteed to receive one ...yada yada yada...

So I interpreted that as eligibility to win 1 and only one Honeycomb per donation of any amount greater than or equal to $30.

If you were to receive 1 honeycomb per $30 increment I would expect the wording to mirror he first rule, and to have said instead "Every $30 you donate gets you..."

I think this interpretation is further supported by the subsequent statement of:

"We're not yet done! For $1,000 or more donated at one time, you'll received TEN of Worldbuilders Exclusive Auri's Honeycomb tokens ..."

Which would be a strange thing to say if donating $1000 already got you 33 honeycombs (one per each $30 chunk of $1000).

I wasn't sure if it was 1 comb per person who donated $30+, or 1 comb per donation of $30+.

I donated twice at $30, hoping it was the latter, so I could get a comb and candle (happy to see the Slow Regard of Silent Things tokens making an appearance!).

If I only get 1 comb, I will make a candle (assuming I can), but I will be in the market for a second comb, so heads up to the $1000-donators.
I came here to sing and collect tokens, and I'm alllll out of money.

I agree, it's a bit vague if 3 donations of $30 gets a person one or three. I'm OK either way, because the main thing is lots of donations for a great cause. I'm really happy about how much money this is raising, it's going to help a lot of people. :)

my questions are:

-does the damage have to be in one hit?
-does it absorb "30 points from one source"? (3 hits of 10 from the same monster).

Jeff Martin wrote: I thought I would announce this here a day before we announce it elsewhere.

We have teamed up with Patrick Rothfuss and his Worldbuilders charity to raise money for needy families all over the world. While 2020 could have been a very bad year for True Dungeon, we were blessed with much good fortune, so we wanted to give back to help others.

There are some cool limited-edition tokens available -- and even a transmute token will be added to our official list for 2021. Please consider donating to this worthy cause.
