I look at class legendaries as if another class could use it (paladin Weapon) then even if it had dead abilities, it would be a usable weapon for a backup character (looking at you Fighter). Now we have the easiest backup characters (same name even) and the proposals are to leave reusability completely off.

I think other class specific items (neck location) should come out for build options, in the future.

I’m curious what dead powers are on the monk?

Additional Psy power uses, if you don't have something that enables Psychic Power.

Personally, I think the 'throwing' power is a dead power, because losing 10 to hit and damage (and general confusion with the power) are not worth replacing GoFF.

And even the range extenders are borderline, given the frequency of monsters immune to Crit or Stun, and there is no way to overcome the latter.

Dead might be a bit off. But "restrictive or needing outside tokens" is a bit long to say.

Fighter relic and legendary should probably borrow from the fact only fighters can hit mastery, high mastery, and grand mastery with weapons.

UR of mastery - +3 hit / +3 damage (all weapons, melee and ranged)
Relic of high mastery +5 hit / +5 damage (all weapons)
Legendary of grand mastery - +7 hit / +7 damage (all weapons)

Those bonuses are a little bigger than the source material, but probably Ok.

When you cast a spell, Heal yourself an amount equal to the spell's level.
Usable by: Bard, Cleric, Druid, & Wizards

Archivist's Necklace
Barrage (1/room)
Mystic 2
Counts as one item for either Cabal or Arcane set
Usable by: Human Wizard

Slain's Archivist Necklace
Barrage (at will)
Mystic 5
Counts as one item for both Cabal or Arcane sets
Usable by: Human Wizard

Cast Magic Missile as a spell, as a Standard Action, without marking it on the player card. If there are two or more monsters, Magic Missile damage can be divided between the monsters however you like.

I like this idea.
It’s more damage in one round but you would really have to manage your spells so as to not run out.

I like this idea.
It’s more damage in one round but you would really have to manage your spells so as to not run out.


What about something like 'may cast any number of magic missiles as an instant action when casting a spell as when casting a spell as a standard action". So in theory you could use it in conjunction with things that let you cast magic missiles without marking them off you card or in conjunction with off card magic missiles from scrolls and the like. Plus you would have more control about when you unleashed your Barrage.

DeRanged Evokers Wand : ranged one handed : 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 : doubles the damage of a spell just cast, all melee combatants take 5 points of damage

It’s like MEC, and could stack with MEC, but would probably do ~ 30 damage to the party?

I suspect you are unlikely to get much traction on items that let you damage other party members (though a certain grind DM might enjoy them)

As long as the user suffers retribution damage from all melee attackers, I would be ok with it.

I suspect there would be retribution.

The idea was a wand the wielder has that pumps too much damage down range. “Fireballs” that strike a few friendlies was the idea. It’s an older trope but I’ve taken a hit and it was for full damage, not just a few points of “blowback” damage.
