I think have Stu's and Gloves of the Dire Bear in the same set is a lot of strength.

Could use Medallion of the Sweetwoods if the previous pouch is too good (though I think Fighters and Paladins could use that boost)

Charm of the brewmaster feels like a rare ability to me.

Cranston's hat combo's well with Psyferre's.

I still think Psyferre's needs something more. Imagine being that 10 pack player and finding out that now instead of one empty slot, you have 2.

I love the change to the lucky cloak.

The ring of sacrifice is fun, but doesn't seem to really replace a +2 damage or spell ring.

Ring of the siren is too weak for a ring. Could be ok as a charm or Ioun stone, or have spell damage, ranged damage, or damage and healing added back.

Would like to see necklace of prayer beads look more like a necklace.

"May cast all 2nd spells as a Free Action"

Does this mean 2nd level spells?

Or does it mean if you have already cast 1 spell on a turn, you may use your free action to cast a 2nd spell?

Based on the Relic it transmutes to, it looks like Jeff just accidentally left off the word "level".

Because every time he tries to include some cool new boots, multiple people complain 'but my Eldritch boots! I won't buy these new boots. They suck.'
So, he changes it to a different slot.

For the record, I would pick up some lucky boots. I don't need a lucky cloak (unless there is a 3 piece set power).

^ this. I was honestly pretty excited about the initial swap from just another resistance cape to the lucky boots.

I agree that boots would have been awesome, and with cloak of the elm and shadowskin cloak, I’m not really in the market for another cloak unless there is a 3 piece set bonus. Add a 3 piece set bonus and I’ll probably drop shadowskin.

Party wise, I think my group would prefer boots because we have several that will never get boots of the 4 winds and they now have shadowskin and / or elm. With brooching still in print, though, I can see why you would like to have lucky cloak this year.

Dare I say... why not both?

You're right, I didn't catch that. I had to go back and reread the token a few times to let it sink in. So, when you cast these new spells they basically use a pooled total of 5 spells that are marked off the top of the card. In other words, they are not interchangeable with the existing 1st level spells, but are interchangeable with each other. I assume if you want to use them more than 5 times you would have to spell swap a 2nd level spell or higher. This makes the UR slightly more palatable and strengthens the relic even more, but for me does nothing to make the legendary more appealing. In reality, I don't run out of spells now, so the added spells are a luxury, but not a necessity.

In the case you already never run out of spells, it still lets you cast one of the damage scrolls with a base of 6 damage instead of spending the time to cast one of your 0th level spells with a base 3 of damage. It may not be much of an increase, but it is a few extra points of damage.

And as a random draw for a new player, it seems really powerful.

I agree that for most higher geared players, it probably wouldn't make sense to wear the UR.

There's no mention any more of doing a skill check on the new 1st level spells. If you pass your skill check, the base damage of a 0 level spell is also 6, so no gain there. When you get to the relic and can add rares, then you gain a 1-3 points depending upon which damage scroll you use.

It says "treat as spell being cast in all ways", which to me would mean you can still do the skill check?

Bracelets of power I would like to see return to bracelets of the eel or reprint the +2 staff of power

I don’t get brewmasters charm

Big fan of the change to cranstons

Ok with the lucky cloak, I liked it better as boots giving more versatility to non BotFW people and would also like to know of it is getting a 3 set bonus or like endgame said print both and do a 4 set

Neck of the prayer beads. I would like this to return to the holy symbol with the change we have 4 neck slots at the it level. I was one of the ones that liked the idea of turning heaps to damage but can live without

I can’t see wanting to use either ring really

Thinking of the new wizard item. If a new player draws one are we gonna have scrolls on hand for them to actually use it or have 5 generic damage spells to mark on their cards?

Very nice changes, this is shaping up to be an expensive year.

Is necklace of prayer beads a bead of a necklace?

Should it say "2nd lv" current wording is a little confusing

It needs to be clarified, because not all spells require a skill check. Some require sliding, some require skill checks and some require nothing.
