I don't see any confusion between the two posts, but admit maybe I am confused about that.

Jeff had an intent when he posted that Druegar didn't know (or remember) some time later. And if you continue that post, others pointed out that it was discussed previously. Ralykam even references a post which Jeff said the same thing that no longer exists. Others chime in that they remember that the transmute will not work with the skull, but unfortunately do not provide any other direct quotes.

Now it is possible that there was a change between those two posts because of internal discussions, but I think it is more likely that Druegar didn't know (or forgot) what Jeff said in that one post because as Druegar says in that post "token's power has not been decided." I don't think any thought had been given to the completed transmute.

The last thing I find interesting in that thread (when I read it yesterday) is there was a discussion of transmuting ingredients for the possible transmute including using a UR as a substitute by Fiddy.

I was also gonna have E) Remove Druid from the list of classes who can use this, including anyone who has EVER played a Druid, or who might be purchasing it on behalf of someone who has been known to play Druid.

..... And as someone who has THE MOST PLAYER XP in True Dungeon, you should all listen to ME about what's best for this game, or else I will never play it again. EVER. (but I'll still buy XP cards off eBay, and input them, to keep my unbroken XP record. So there.)

Jeff did. later say once in a design post and nowhere else that wasn’t the case, effectively acknowledging the token text as printed was not unambiguous (implying they same of the tdb entry). Good to know.

After I've invested eleventy-billion dollars* in my token collection, I am absolutely incensed that my tokens could be devalued by a party member turning into a Lich, because they will steal ALL my URTEs and without a solid cap on treasure pulls, the entire TD economy will collapse. I'm not just thinking about this for my own self interest, either. If Jeff loses the faith of the token-buying community, I'm afraid TD will never financially recover. Jeff and his family will be living in a van down by the river!

The only way this token should be printed is if we:

A) Have it grant +1 Level to anyone with a "B" in their last name,
B ) Have it provide at LEAST 3 Charm slot expanders, and 5 more Iouns,
C) +4 CON to keep in competitive with proposed Elfstone Shared (or, just move +4 Con to the Shard, thanks)
D) Make it a Wildcard part of ANY set
and while we're at it, I think we should adjust the graphics to include more Sapphires!
