*waves hands* "Magic" *waves hands*

No real answer for that.

Looking at the token the "skull" is definitely not wholly natural. It's got multiple pieces being created from metal or other pieces.

I being one of the people who participated in the token design, also remember the ruling on the RoSP and even bought one of the skulls, think that the skull design is fine the way it is. The UR token will still be usable by other people and thus it will have some resale value, plus resale value on the spare teeth floating around there won't just fall off after all the HE Skulls are made. Was the same with the Segments for the RoSP. I just traded Seg 5-7 away in the last two weeks.

RoSP just used the segments, mind you they were UR each of them instead of the Light Green backing, but that's only because those colors didn't exist back then. Relics and Legendary items only started in 2012 which was when Segment 5 came out for RoSP.

We've been chasing a Mind Slayer for several years. At least half of the time we've been gathering teeth.

Storyline wise, it was our fight with the Mindflayer who fled across the planes that set us off on our tooth-collecting adventures.

We caught up with them and Blackthorn a while back.

Recipe comments:

One of the good things about Eldrtich tokens is they hoover a lot of trade goods out of the market.

This in turn makes new token purchases and treasure pulls more desirable.

Having an alt recipe that takes a PyP and the teeth segments does not achieve this effect.

I think the recipe should stay focused on trade goods for this reason.

I also think there should be demand in current year recipes to hoover up excess monster bits and fleece that were left on the sidelines as 2019 became the extreme constraining factor in making Bead of the Lucky Traveler. I suspect a good place to locate some of that demand is in a Golden Fleece in the Cavadar transmute, as there was in the Kilt transmute. Another good place might be the Elfstone Shard.

I think the current design is okay.

I'd also be a fan if the skull allow stacking with one psychic enabler to not invalidate all of them.

The Eldritch items have always been pretty light on trade items TBH. Legendary tokens suck up a ton of trade tokens...

Per transmute, yes.

In aggregate? Only Jeff knows for sure.

I am willing to bet more than twice as many Kilt of Dungeonbane were made than all Legendary put together for that year. So for stuff like Aragonite, OE, EB, and even EM I think the Eldrtich tokens are pulling a lot more out of the economy than Legendaries.

Plank? Stone? Silk? probably not so much. But who knows... if 15 Eldritch get made for every Legendary...

Aesthetically, I like the earlier suggestion of having the skull look more like a natural skull with the gold teeth inserted, unless there's a story line reason for the skull looking mechanical.

Well, if Cavadar was a construct, then assembling his golden teeth was less ghoulish...

we do seem to be going into a more futuristic area this season. Maybe that's part of the reason for the techno/cyber head.

Or maybe it's the head of the mechanical creature we just fought in V1?
