May cast a spell as a free action (1/combat)

(NOTE: Errata to the transmuted Bracelets of the Zephyr to make them have the same effect - e.g. 2nd spell is not cast 'as a scroll').

I like that idea - so you have to own the item, you use it in conjunction with this token, and you gain no effects of that token, other than it's counting as a set peice?

Agreed. This one has stood out to me so far, as far as flavor and spreading power around, but I'd need to really crunch the numbers to find out how it holds out in the long term and what ways it could 'break' the game.

Lenses of Double Vision (Eyes)

Usable by: Bard, Cleric, Druid, Wizards

Bard: Sacrifice 5 HP, May cast the same spell twice as a standard action (1/room) (Both slots are marked off the card)
Cleric: Sacrifice 5 HP, Restore Power or Restore Spell affects 2 players (2/game)
Druid: Sacrifice 5 HP, Gain an additional Spell Surge (2/game)
Wizards: May re-use a mage power a 2nd time (1/room)

New Cabal Set Item Ideas:

All items usable by: Bard, Cleric, Druid, Wizards.

All items count as part of the Cabal Set

Cap of the Cabal (Head)

Equipped:
1-2: Use 1 Spell w/out marking box off card
3-4: Use 1 Spell or power w/out marking box off card
5+: Use 2 Different Spells or powers w/out marking box off card

Cincture of the Cabal (Waist)

Equipped:
1-2: +2 to Spell Healling, Spell and Polymorph damage
3-4: +3 to Spell Healling, Spell and Polymorph damage
5+: +4 to Spell Healling, Spell and Polymorph damage

Contacts of the Cabal (Eyes)

Equipped:
1-2: May divide base+bonus damage or healing for single target spell among 2 targets
3-4: As above but +1 to spell damage and healing
5+: As above but +2 to spell damage and healing

Those are all pretty color-within-the-lines ideas - what are your better ones :).

I'd like to see foot slot over head, personally. It's a space with minimal options for casters-we basically use BotFW (assuming you're lucky enough to have), hope you manage to hunt down South Wind or...IDK...I wore Boots of Might for the +CON before I got South Wind and I don't see a time when I'll ever own Four Winds (and South Wind are hitting 6 years old). Hat at least has some interesting options- Cook's, Cranston's, Charming, Elemental Mastery, Expertise, Intellect. I'd also argue that one of the other two should be Ioun Stone just to "match" the slot-usage of the Charm in the original Cabal set, but that might make things a bit too available since someone could grab Charm and Ioun, so I'm not fully married to that idea.

Better limit it to Bard, Cleric, Druid, and Wizards otherwise Paladins and Rangers will get to wear these due to Wand of Illumination which would be weird.


The inclusion of Ranger and Paladin was actually intentional on my part. Keep in mind that both classes can use scrolls as well, though admittedly access to few that would matter (except Rangers with their neck transmute)

I'm pretty sure I've advocated for new Cabal items in the past, but I'm not as in favor of the idea as I used to be. Instead of 1 potential way to get the set bonus, you would now have 120 possible combinations. While that is awesome for making it easier for the individual caster to get the set bonus, it immediately becomes more complex for coordinating a group to agree on which items they'll all wear (assuming party members have access to the older tokens).

There are like 15 existing old cabal sets in existence that can be verified by forumites.

6 choose 3 is 20. There are 20 ways to come up with a set of 3 from 6 options.

In any case the only plausible way a cabal run will ever happen with synergy 3 or more is via prior coordination.

In my view, The charm and gloves of the cabal are pretty silly and useless, and the bracelet is underpowered. I own three sets and quartermaster my party and I’ve never equipped the gloves or charm for any reason than the set bonus.

Anyway - I want more cabal sets in circulation and I think the best way to get it will be to print new effects which are competitive in the slots they occupy.

I simply to not understand this mentality. Would you enjoy it if your group failed a puzzle because someone hid a puzzle piece?

If so - ask your DM to hide one before you get in the room, and leave the rest of us out of it.

This sounds fun but imagine the feed back if you were in the group that got "screwed over on an 80 ticket but the group that came through before". If we cant have ducks to leave in the dungeon I cant see this getting off the ground.
