Lesser Rod of Seven Parts
Transmute cost: 50,000 GP and one of each trade good.
Cannot be equipped at the same time as Rod of Seven Parts
Effect is the same as Rod of Seven Parts, but does not have a unique number and does not grant access to subclass character cards.

+1

This sounds like a great idea. Maybe have them use the rare treasure-enhancing tokens as a base. I know that when I first started, transmuting anything seemed like such a monumental task. Things have definitely gotten better in the last few years, but anything to keep casual player engament high will always get a +1 from me.

We have had these the past 2 years and I suspect it will continue. The Mystic Orb and Reaver were both transmutes using rare and uncommon completion tokens. They were 1 1/2 to 2 year paths to collect the items so not 3-5 year, though.

I think this was a great addition to the game and should definitely continue. Things that let the casual player build things helps draw them more into the game.

Agree on the FOP transmutes however would suggest it not being completion tokens necessarily. Reason I say that is to get the UR, one needed to run at HC or higher for the Rare Completion tokens, something that might be daunting for newer players. Reason I think using 2-3 treasure tokens is gives the treasure tokens additional value/flavor while also being more available for those unable to attend multiple runs each year. (That said, not always easy to collect rares for casual players and completion token are guaranteed upon completing a run). Think it could be fun!

Example: year 1: golden staff, year 2: ruby gem, year 3: dragon idol, transmute: staff of dragon’s Breath (UR level)

This would be such a pain to resolve after every attack.
"The Devilsaur swings it's tail and hits everybody."
"I have a 50% miss chance!" ten times.

+1. Might work in VTD, but not in physical

A good point on the rares versus UCs. Perhaps have 2x the number of UC completion tokens to equal the rares for the recipe (like with trade goods). That would allow anyone at any difficulty level to complete the items while also giving encouragement to build up to HC difficulty.

I'm good with a multiyear MB transmute.

Since already had damage, saves, etc. could go with:

Ioun Stone Hessonite Cluster
+2 to hit with all attacks, heal 1pt each cast spell

A +3 Blunder Weapon as a Relic would be nice, though I'm not sure how niche blunder weapons are and if it makes sense to use a relic slot for one.

Smelling Salts
One use, turn in at start. Gain your choice of +3 to spell damage or healing. (Max one Smelling Salts per adventure)
Usable by: All

Transmute recipe: 25 points worth of Dust tokens.

I imagine this being an evergreen transmute, similar to the 10 HP healing potions.

(This assume Dust tokens continue to be printed - they showed up in 2017-2021, but not in 2022, so I'm not sure if they are coming back or not).
