D&D Monks can flurry with unarmed attacks or Monk weapons in 3/3.5 and proficient weapons on 5e. This can include swords.

I consider the design of this fire sword in allowing FoB to be a pretty good win for retraining power creep:

It functions essentially the same as the UR +2 Viper Strike Fang for Monks and Rangers, without participating in a set bonus.

While +2 VSF was maybe too good, having its average damage be matched and expanded to to Cleric and Druid 9 years later feels like a really good thing re: power creep.

Isn't it also basically exactly the same as:

Can we just scrap Acherin's Deadly Gloves and add the assassin’s crossbow to the set. I would see Acherin's Deadly Glovesas a good alternative if it just tripled crit damage. As is I don’t see it as being a very useful token is needing a natural 20 or it does nothing. It would be good a rare or 4 star transmute. But way too week to be a ultra rare

I think we have enough reprints and can table things like other requested reprints for next year(s). (Crossbow, other FoPs, Sacred Sling, etc)

We have 2 reprints right now. The argument that the gloves really don't do much unless you slide/roll a 20 is valid. Maybe don't replace it with the +2 Assassin's Crossbow for a 3rd reprint, but I am sure we can come up with something more useful than the gloves.

There are definitely 3 reprints.

My bad, I was missing the FoP. I still believe we can try to make a better UR than the Gloves. If we must have them, maybe add a To Hit bonus?

The gloves seem to have advocates on both sides (too weak, too strong).

When that happens, we might be pretty close honestly.

I'd like to post this here as well. In order to close the gap between newer and older players, I'd propose that the new TEs have diminishing returns for people with the older items. This means older players still get something from them, but newer players get more:

If CoA/RoR equipped: +1 treasure
If no CoA/RoR equipped: +3 treasure

2025
Ioun Stone of Good Fortune:
If CoA/CoGF equipped: +1 treasure
If not, CoGF effect (works with the CoGF as well)

NEW COA 2.0 (using the Bead of Riches, Ioun stone of good fortune, aotf):

If CoA/allthecrap equipped: + 4 treasure
If no CoA equipped: +13 treasure
