I also agree that the Ring of Negation probably doesn't need the last room restriction. It seem unnecessarily and adds extra complexity which is usually not a good thing.

I think Ring of Negation could have the final room restriction removed and be okay. It would be a sort of saves version of Cloak of Shadowskin.

Bead of Bounty should be +2 Treasure Tokens at most to stay in line with current pull inflation.

Bracelets of Luck should be +2 saves to stay in line with other tokens

Bead of Whispers, another saves bead seems weird coming off of Lucky Traveler, maybe okay but I'd say the Rogue bonus should be an additional +1 to Rogue saves as they already suck. Maybe change the name to something more in-line with the effect like Bead of Precognition.

Greaves of Absorption should not exist as I think Greaves should remain Treasure Box only. I would instead swap it out for a 2-handed melee weapon which is otherwise missing from this set.

The rest seem fine as-is.

Keep the last room exception on the ring. Room 7 usually has some big bad effect because of the boss/final puzzle. Being able to just negate that means less peril and maybe forces Jeff to create much more annoying monsters or ways to endanger the party. We will already have earned max XP and the only tangible difference between success or failure in room 7 is the pin.

I'm fine with keeping the final room restriction for making runs more of a real challenge. But, what if there are more than seven rooms? How does it work in Grind?

There is a more general concern as saves become less threatening of having effects with no saves become more common. VTD9 rm6, for instance.

I’m not following you Ian?

The ring token just refers to the last room, so if there are more than 7 rooms it just doesn’t work in whatever the last room is.

In Grind there are already “rooms” for determining when potion effects end and when 1/room effects recharge.

I don’t think we need another melee damage ioun. We’ve had 2 recently - infernal fire and Jasper ellipsis.

If you need a ioun, and it can’t be the regen ioun (which I really liked), maybe reprint sapphire prism?

Cross posting from the transmute thread, the auto pass failed save ring could probably be +2 all saves and start a saves ring transmute ending in +6 all saves. It seems to fit the ring slot, goes well in theme for the last of the +6 save 4*s, and have less potential negative impact than the pass a failed save ring.

Mmmmm, nice tokens.
I watched a couple iterations go by without commenting, and the UR set has definitely shaped up well. There's always gonna be areas of contention though, once we get into the URs and higher. Here's my 2 cents, for what it's worth*

+2 Dual Shot Sling - Very nice token, good concept. We've been needing another UR sling, and this has a unique perk which will definitely help some folks remember to bring their ammo along

Acherin's Ring of Negation: I always love seeing the Honorarily named tokens shine, so I'm on the side of folks who say "It doesn't need the final room restriction." My gut says that it'll kick in less than half the time anyways (higher end players equip so their saves will be sufficient *most* of the time... and we're seeing a LOT of creep in the saves department this year, so I imagine it'll only go up.) Plus, with it only working 1/game, it's not overpowered, even in the final room (which often asks for multiple saves!)

Arcane Charm: Mmmmmmmmm. Nice.

BoB: Nice to meet ya, Bob! (Kudo's to those who asked for the alliteration, and Jeff for granting this wish.)

I am also in the camp of folks who say +2 treasure would be sufficient. Yeah, there's fewer bead slots, but there's also nowhere near the competition for those slots. If adding to the growing stack of TEs is necessary for sales & growth okay... but +2 chips every 2 years is working well right now. Maybe stick with it, and give yourself room to do a +3 next year? It's always easier to go slow than to give out too much and have to reign things in later.

All that said, it's your call, and everyone is gonna pre-order these, either way.

Bead of Whispers: Hmmmm... Nice way to give Rogues who don't own the Rod of Persuasion a quicker way to help the party. I like it. ..... any chance it could have sapphire eyes? ... Or did some Rogue already steal the sapphire?

Boots of Pajamas - Awesome tribute to Linda! I like it better as boots than the (brief) gloves iteration.

Cloak of Retribution - I love this and other RD offerings this year. I feel like some folks (possibly Dwarven Fighters) are gonna be experimenting with some RD builds in the near future : )

DDD, EoOrbits, & FoPPhoenix: all excellent reprints. (Also nice to see the Death Die back to Teal from its brief purple interlude in early design.)

Greaves: Eh... lots of folks have aired opinions on this. While I, too, would like a transmute path, I'm not super invested in the argument. It's a nice token which will probably find its way into many builds, one way or the other.

Grunnel's Funnel: Super excited about this Honorarily names token! I hope Frances eventually gets their own token too. And maybe GibGub... though not an UR :P

Robe of Skill: I'm not sure how easy it will be to track the bonus to 1st and 2nd level spells separately from the total bonus to *all* spells.... but then I don't play a spell caster so I'll leave those complications to others to solve.

Everything else: Seems pretty solid.

Good artwork all around. Nice options for many different interest groups. nothing a new player would be sad to find in a 00 pack. Could definitely use a couple more sapphires on a Rogue-related token ; )


* Canadian 2 cents is approximately 1.6 cents, USD. Not enough to buy even one sapphire, alas.

So the funnel can be used to use a potion on your self or others as a free action. Unless the token db states that other cannot be a monster or npc in the room this token will cause issues. Or we could use those healing potions that don’t allow you to attack after drinking them on a big monster and break a fight. Just saying.
You don't have to outrun the monster, just the guy next to you - The buddy system.

I've got a mental image of all 10 party members simultaneously using this on the same character, and him/her having 10 funnels somehow fitting in their mouth at the same time, and chugging 10 potions at once. :)
