Maybe we can take a half-step and do +2 damage and then something like -1 from Cold?


For what it's worth, I like something like that a lot. I think that still adds the neat factor while not being 50% better than the last version from just two years ago. I say this as someone who throws a lot of ranged attacks. :)

I think if the name or art was changed to have a nature theme it would smooth the rough edges around the robe.

It’s a pretty big drawback that the healing doesn’t effect 0 level spells which I think gets over looked when evaluating the item.

Participation Token - Goggles of Anticipation should probably be Reflex save(s) not Reflex save to match the other tokens. Also I don't know if it matters, but I think the w/ Melee is an unusual way of referring to a Melee attack bonus (compared to other tokens).

All in all, the set looks pretty cool. :) I think there are a few really important things to address though.


Thank you for your input. The Robe is meant to give armored spellcasters the choice of giving up lots of armor to be better at their jobs. The Wizard does not have as much skin in the game as the other better armored casters so this is not really a choice for them. It is too powerful to give to Wizards without a major AC concession. That's my thoughts anyway...wrong as they may be,

Respectfully, disagree. I haven't even looked at the art. If it's meant to be a healer robe, I want it to be a healer Robe and not BiS for damage. :)

I agree. Something along these lines feels less bad than a straight 50% damage increase. It’s still creep but not as bad.

I still Think you have room to do less damage and more other ability if you wanted to have variety. Thoughts include:

+1 damage (melee and Ranged)
And one of:
+1 ac
+1 saves
-3 damage to element like cold
+1 regen

I would prefer the +1 dex or +1 con to -1 cold damage - DR is harder to track for new players.

Re: The Robe

The idea came up last round, and probably got lost in the bulk of that thread, to maybe change to keep the abilities and classes of the robe, but to change the art and title to something like “leather vest,” so it thematically would make more sense on why there is a robe the wizards can’t use.
