Even if this change was limited to once per round it would be a big improvement.

This scenario could open an exploit to allow polymorph casting without the Relic or Legendary. Sequence:
- Start round polymorphed
- Standard Action: Attack
- Instant Action: De-polymorph
- Free action: Spell cast (choose your favorite method)
- Instant action: Re-Polymorph

I think the idea would still be only one shape per round, so you wouldn't be able to use the instant action to get back into a shape. I agree the loophole you point to shouldn't be opened, but it would be nice to not be locked into a shape in a multi-round combat.

So:
round 1 (only one shape)
round 2 (only one shape, but it could be a different shape)
etc.

I will say that I really like this direction for polymorph potions. It's generated a lot of discussion outside the forums already, which to me is always the sign of a good idea. There's a lot of details to work out about how this interacts with other game systems, but that's something that can probably happen after the tokens go to the printer.

As is, I really like that polymorph no longer requires an investment by the Druid at 4th level of:
- A disposable token that you may or may not get in your 10 pack
- A full standard action (time is precious in the dungeon)
- A slot that could be helping you contribute to the party better (pants, belt, etc.)
- An ultra-rare to let you bypass the slot requirement (Stu's, Pouch of Tulz, etc.)

Opening up playstyles to more people is always welcome!

Once there are multiple rare trinkets, this would open back up if you could do different shapes. Maybe a good power specifically for Iktomi's and not a broad rule for trinkets?

Jeff, I think you have reduced the ralson ability with the trinket 1/game. It is actually 1/room

According to tokendb
“Animal Friend: An animal friend aids the ranger in ranged combat. Once per room, rangers can use any* polymorph potion token to summon a spiritual animal friend. “

Due to VTD and concerns regarding the upcoming class re-design, we are creating a new slotless type of token called Trinkets that are only usable by Druids.

Just to be clear, this means that all Wizards are losing their Polymorph access starting in 2024?

Will this retroactively apply to existing Polymorph potions that include Wizards in the allowed classes?

Will existing polymorph potions be treated as Trinkets (in terms of not being consumed, not in terms of their trade good value)?

I'd love to see Iktomi's allow multiple forms per room (as it was originally designed), but otherwise just one form per room.

Currently the potion is turned in at the end of the room.

Question is how many of the same trinket can you equipped or do you need a different named trinket for each combat?

If Polymorph trinkets are slotless and not turned in, should their damage wheel be brought back in line with other Rare weapons? I had assumed the higher numbers were due to the cost of turning in the token or the Charm slot. Once a seven (or, more realistically, four) trinkets are printed, why would a Druid want to attack with a standard weapon?

Previously, both types of Wizards could also use Polymorph potions. Is their exclusion from Polymorph trinkets intentional (and a preview of the upcoming class redesign)?

With Polymorph potions being phased out, is there concern that there will be fewer AI tokens (and more AG/EB)?

Seth's Ring of Shadows feels odd to me -- "Okay rogue, you can sneak attack with a ranged weapon, but you only get the +1 damage if you don't."

dokkaebi wrote: Thank you for all of the clarifications, and the change out of Charm Slot.

Under current rules, a player can bring multiple throwing hammers and use as many as combat rounds allow.

Will Trinkets be limited to one of each named Trinket per adventure? Can a Druid bring 4 Trinket of Trollform tokens and use one per combat?

I could see how the rules already cover this, but thrown weapons operate differently. And since the Trinket is a pseudo-weapon, I thought it'd be nice to get clarification.

This only works for weapons since there is a specific exception in the PHB for hand-held items. Since a trinket is not a hand-held item, I wouldn't expect that you could equip more than one of any trinket.
I play Rogue. Occasionally I even play Rogue well.

Trinkets can only be used by Druids?

So Wizards won’t be getting polymorphism support any longer?
