TOPIC: 2024 Token Images - Volunteer and Participation Tokens < Part Two

Thanks for the great suggestions on these items.

The graphic is divided up into the Volunteer tokens (the top four) and Participation tokens for 2024. We have two sets of Participation tokens for 2024 -- one for VTD and one for in-person.

The VTD set (9 tokens) is based on the Psychic Powers rules, and all of them can be transmuted into a Relic Ring that will grant a certain Tier of Psychic Power. NOTE: If a Skull Bearer equips a Ring of Mastery, then that character can use any Psychic Power twice during a game (instead of one). It can be the same power done twice.

The in-person set (6 tokens) is focused on the 6 Ability scores and those can be transmuted into a Charm that will help newer players have some Treasure Enhancing fun. If you have any other ideas about a cool set power, please let me know.

I don't like how the "truedungeon.com/transmuted overlaps the image and/or text on 3 of the VTD Participation tokens.

One quick note: It looks like several of the VTD participation tokens have overlapping text between the transmute URL and the token effect text. Is that an artifact of the PDF process, or do they need to have the text and image sizes reduced slightly?

Also echoing overlapping text concerns.

I still think the Volunteer URs are going to be another Pants of the Panther level item personally, making it very hard for volunteers to sell either item. I don't think most players that would be buying tokens would want to give up either slot, since ears are slot expanders that can easily net more stats than the UR, and Beads are super contested.

Maybe a power up, or just different items would be worth while? Unless volunteer rewards structures are changing, then maybe we don't need to worry about vol power as much.

This is pretty great, I was thinking it'd be nice if there were a ring this year with a decent 1/game ability to pair with the Ring Initiate power. I'm also very happy about the strong hint that there will be at least 9 VTD adventures in 2024

Pendant of Psychic Power is now much stronger than the 2017 standard pack rare Medallion of the Third Eye , but I guess that makes sense since the Legendary class necklaces were introduced since then.

Bead of the Third Eye seems weaker than the other VTD tokens, given how powerful the Bead slot is.

Do Teeth of Cavadar stack with the participation tokens? If someone has, say, five tiers from these participation rewards and three unique Teeth, do they only have access to 6th tier powers?

If someone has seven unique teeth and one (or more) of the participation tokens as their only enabler(s), are they able to use 7th tier powers? What if the Bead of the Third Eye was their only enabler? What if the Ring of Psychic Mastery was their only enabler?

If you equip both a Skull of Cavadar and a Ring of Psychic Mastery, can you only repeat a power, or can you choose to manifest a second, different power?

Can we get confirmation that the ring will be swapable with ring initiate? Having psychic ability “affects the party card” but if you also have a skull equipped swapping the ring wouldn’t actually change anything on the party card. I do not currently own a skull but this would be a cool enough interaction that I would be encouraged to get one. Even as someone without a skull I really like the 2x power rule.

Excited you liked my dual use idea on the VTD relic, definitely encouraged to use it now for new and old players alike!

I still think something for the charm would be good like “+2 Treasure Chips (non-stacking) OR +1 Ability Score of your choice” which would fit the theme of the charms and make it flexible for any type of player.

Note that if Ring of Psychic Mastery is eligible for Ring Initiate, then you're using the second Psychic activation granted by the Ring in order to use Ring Initiate to swap it out. It'll basically give you the option to either manifest a second Psychic power or swap in a more useful ring if you ended up not needing it.

Could it be +1 use of psychic power so it could stack with dark disciples shirt if someone somehow equips a shirt expander. It would go little ways to making a true psychic build possible if it were one day possible to get up to a psychic activation in each room.

I don't know this pass wasn't intended to address the Volunteer items yet, but I'd have a hard time seeing the current items creating much excitement for volunteers. Perhaps we could upgrade them or come up with other ideas of tokens?
