Just a player but here's my guess. Those classes are the other highly skilled classes in most D&D editions. (The monk is debatable, but for sure is a very Dex oriented class). Basically, if you were playing D&D and didn't have a Rogue, you'd expect one of those 3 classes to be the one on trap duty, most likely.


I think the main reason is it restricted to three classes is so that there are never more Tokens of Temptation in a group than there are traps in the Dungeon, so that there isn't any conflict in the group over who gets to do the trap (and get the rare token). Everyone with a Token of Temptation now will be able to attempt a trap.

Of the ancients 5 piece set bonus seems kind of weak. It should have something better for 5 pieces. Maybe +2 to a stat of your choice, this plays off of having knowledge from the ancients, or just a bonus to saves.

Agreed, +5 HPs is not compelling. I do like the idea of +2 to a stat of your choice as it makes it attractive to all classes if the proposed rules changes go into effect.

How does this relate (if at all) to tokens which halve damage of a source?

I would assume this limit applies only to flat damage reduction, and does not involve percentage based reduction at all?

For example, I assume I can equip tokens that give me 20 points of fire DR, and also a Ring of Fire Resistance (fire damage inflicted on the wearer is reduced by 50%), and if I do so, the fire damage I take is:

(Incoming fire damage - 20)/2

No. Not unless we are substantially buffing beads to justify the comparison to charms, or you are moving it to a new slot (beaded slippers for example).

Where you have a charm expander the budget at UR is pretty much set for beads:
Neck UR 3
Ear UR 2
Wrist UR 2

Deviating from this just feels like too big of a departure from where the game already is.

How does these gloves interact with + 2 Assassin's Crossbow ?

Would this be x5 damage or x9 damage. I assume x5 damage based on the existing language in the entry of the +2 Assassin's Crossbow, but I wanted to confirm.

Damage Resistance:
In the case that an attack deals multiple damage types, can it be reduced by more than 20 total? How do Melee, Missile, and Spell DR factor into this? How do other unlisted DR types factor into this?

For example:
1. if I had 10 Cold, 10 Shock, and 10 Sonic DR, then was hit for 30 Cold/Shock/Sonic damage, how much would I take?
2. if I had 10 Darkrift and 20 Dragon Breath DR, then was hit for 30 Darkrift Dragon Breath damage, how much would I take?
3. if I had 20 Melee and 4 Dragon Melee DR, then was hit for 30 Dragon Melee damage, how much would I take?
4. if I had 15 Piercing and 10 Melee DR, then was hit for 30 Piercing Melee damage, how much would I take?
5. if I had 20 Darkrift and 4 Ranged DR, then was hit for 30 Darkrift Spell damage, how much would I take?
6. if a Barbarian had 20 Darkrift DR (and 1 Barbarian DR), then was hit for 30 Darkrift damage, how much would they take?
7. if a Paladin had 20 Darkrift DR (and 3 Guard DR), then was hit (via Guard) for 30 Darkrift damage, how much would they take?
8. if a Paladin had 20 Melee DR (and 3 Guard DR), then was hit (via Guard) for 30 damage, how much would they take?

I know one of the DMs said that each guard attack acts like an individual attack. Meaning if I was attack and hit my DR would calculate. Then in the same round, if I got hit but this time from a guarded player, it resets my DR and acts as a new attack.

Since the Runestone Fitting Base has been updated on tokendb to say it works with R or UR Runestones......will it be possible to equip 3 of Picc's Grindstone (one in regular spot, and one more in each of the two possible Fitting Bases)?
