I just read the article and I'm thinking OMG those poor teachers....accused of saying something abusive when cut with scissors?  letting a kid sing with a hat on?? pushing a kid while breaking up a fight??? turning in an assistant principal for fixing test scores???? <br /><br />No doubt that system is broken and there certainly shouldn't be people sitting around for years awaiting a decision, but I don't see the union to blame unless they are the guys who are arbitrating and only work 5 days a month!  Yeesh!  Wish I had that work schedule.  I'm sure there are teachers in that place that deserve to go, but it sounds like there are those there that don't.  Get them their fair hearings, quickly, and settle it.  If the union is holding that up then bad on them, it makes them look bad, the teachers who would be found blameless in the trials suffer, and lets the guilty get more money for nothing.  <br /><br />Jennifer

Isn't it nice to know you can fondle an 8 year old and still pick up your 70k a year salary for half a decade because the school can't toss you due to union rules?<br /><br />I know a crapton of teachers right now and only one of them is facing any problems. He's some far left dailykos fanatic. He even went to that lefty blog convention of theirs which I figure is the equivalent of people attending those tea parties. The funny part is he claims he's being booted (or they're attempting to boot him anyway) because he's white in a predominantly black school system. It was all I could do not to laugh out loud when he voiced his complaint. I guess it was a man bites dog sort of event for him.
