Well, my number was called and I am sitting here at a computer in the Jury Assembly Room waiting to see if I will be assigned to a case. Fun times.

So how is everyone else doing?

My number has been called once for it, then they realized I was actually going to be a witness in the case that I was being called for.

Doing good here. Family left for vacation this morning, so I am here all by myself for the next week. *cheers*

I get called every year...without fail!!!

They have me on speed mailing...12 months will pass and I get a new notice...

There are things you can do "legally" to make it go a little easier...you can postpone at least 2 times for a total of 12 months...this is what I do as I really do get called every year. So at least this way I get an extra year in between.

Have fun with your civic duty...my last case was a great one!

I've only been called once in my entire life......and ended up on the jury. It was a case of indecent exposure. They guy was GUILTY!! First vote, unanimous. We deliberated for about 15 minutes, just to make it look good. We could have voted the minute we got in the door.

And I got to talk to the arresting officers, victim, and prosecuting attorney right after the trial ended. I found out the only reason the guy fought the charges was because he was an illegal alien, with another criminal case also pending trial (a felony, the case I tried was a misdemeanor).

Well, so far I haven't been assigned to a case so still sitting... waiting... :smt024

I guess I wouldn't mind being on a case if it were interesting and my schedule allowed but this sitting and waiting is painful. :smt089

So I wonder why some people get called more than others?

Ha! I've been on jury duty several times...hey, Gary...maybe they only call the smart, beautiful people a lot! ;)

I've even been called once for a county that I didn't live in; I called them and said, I can serve, but I don't live in Jackson county....got me out of that right away!

Good luck and if you get on a case, hopefully it will be an interesting one!

I have never been called for jury duty, but somehow I think I would be dismissed by the defendant's lawyers. I think the death penalty should be used for lesser crimes and the chair should have a dimmer switch to make it more interesting...
