Re: Polling the gang. . . 17 years 8 months ago #73
Les,
The skull fabrics are buy it now, so I can get it at any time so long as its in stock. Is it okay if I wait till sunday to order the black and gold? So if I win the vine fabric I can pay and have them shipped at the same time.
And what are you calling dibs exactly so I know if I have any fabric to work with. Thanks.

No problem on waiting until Sunday. And I'm not sure what I want yet. Probably a couple of bags, but maybe something else. We'll talk more if you get it.

Joyus,
How much of the green vine fabric do you have left after everyone's orders? I was showing the pictures of the fabric to a friend of mine and if you have enough fabric she's interested in a large bag with black satin lining and long black cords.
Also, is it just gummy bears that you like or do like other types as well? We have gummy bears, worms, raspberries, cola bottles, etc. Must prepare the proper pixie snacks after all!!!!!!!!!!

Kim

I'm getting and 1 3/4 yard piece, and I've got 8 drawstring bag orders, 1 large and 7 mediums. For now I won't accept any more till I know there will be enough for any others. Once I have the bags cut out I'll let you know if there is enough.

As for the gummies, no tropical fruits, watermellon, peach or cola flavored. I'm a sucker for gummies bears and their gummy brethren. :)
Thanks sweetie. *HUGS*

Hey Les,

I've stopped bidding on that one yard of purple black vine, its just gotten too expensive for me. I just can't afford to be paying over $20 for one yard of fabric. If you'd like to persue let me know I'll email you the link, but I can't stay in that auction, I'm sorry.

So I've gone ahead and just bought the black and gold skull fabric for Kevin's bag.

-your humble pixie servant
Kim,

I just finished cutting out the bags that I have orders for out of the green/black vine. I believe I can squeak out 1 large lined style bag, 1 medium lined or unlined style, and 1 small lined style. Kim you have first dibs, so please let me know if your friend is still interested.

For those wondering
Small is approximately 5" wide, 6 1/2" tall and 4 3/4" deep. Lined is $12.50.

Many thanks y'all.
Joyus,
Yes, she's still interested. I have her drop you a check for one large, lined bag. I believe I gave you the info on it before.

Kim

Yes I have all the details I need. :)
Shall I just mail it with yours?

Alright gang, so I got the fabrics today and got the exterior pieces cut for everyones orders. Tomorrow I will start cutting the lining pieces in the colors I have, some satins for lining I am waiting to arrive.

Before I start barraging you with questions I shall give you a teaser pic:

As you can see I tried to center a skull right side up in the center of the bag. Unfortunately this does not make for effective use of fabric. Although I am a firm believer of quality over quantity. And being resourceful turns obstacles into opportunities. :)
Areas maybe able to turned into Small bags. The print is actually perfect for the size! But do you think they would be at all useable for dice or some such?
Small is approximately 5" wide, 6 1/2" tall and 4 3/4" deep

My other thought which I thought was rather fun, any whole skulls I can turn into appliques. And then they could be ironed onto whatever one liked.
What do you guys think of these ideas?
Mmm, skull applique. Can't go wrong with floating heads of death! ::grins::

I mean that.

As for the dimensions of the small size, that sounds like it would work quite well for a set of RPG dice - even quite a few of them. Dice are great, in that they don't take up much space at all :-)

Definitely big enough for dice bags - at least for those gamers who aren't dice collectors or only want to bring a set or two to a con. I measured my current bag to get an idea of scale, and it's only slightly bigger than that (5" wide by 7" tall/deep, it's just a rectangle thing). And I've seen gamers with much, much smaller bags than mine.

I can fit a set in the TD token bags, so I'm sure that the small bags would work great.
Its funny how something that takes multiple days to set up comes down in a few hours...
