Jeremy Irons played the lead bad guy Profion in the first Dungeons and Dragons movie . Or were you referring to Bruce Payne as Damodar who also appeared in the second D&D flick?

Snoke was performed by Andy Serkis . Andy also played Sméagol & Gollum to critical and audience acclaim in the Peter Jackson Middle Earth movies.

Chris McKay, who recently directed “The Lego Batman Movie” pic for Warner Bros., is in negotiations to direct “Dungeons & Dragons” for Paramount Pictures.

Michael Gillio will be penning the script. Hasbro’s Brian Goldner and Stephen Davis are producing.

The pic will be one of the first projects to go into production for the newly created AllSpark Pictures. Launched last October, production company aims to transform itself into an industry player to rival Marvel Studios.

No official word yet, but an earlier release date is expected as Hasbro is moving the D&D movie to the front of the line.

Update.

If this new movie is as hinted a "Dragons of Autumn Twilight" is not confirmed any more. It may have taken a different path.

But news out today is the Script is officially done and approved and the studio is pressing forward hard for release November 19, 2021

Producer Roy Lee described the ‘D&D’ movie as a “‘Guardians of the Galaxy’-tone movie in a Tolkien-like universe,” and “a ‘Raiders [of the Lost Ark’] romp inside that world.

Paramount has set there eyes for the leading role, and have some choices in mind.

Will Smith, Josh Brolin, Chris Pratt, Vin Diesel, Matthew McConaughey, Jamie Foxx, Joel Edgerton, Dave Bautista, Jeremy Renner, or Johnny Depp.
