I’m really sorry you and your wife are experiencing this. I hope she gets the care she needs.

Agreed. Though right now I'd honestly say here's hoping this is the last time, however long it takes.

Jill comes home Wednesday. She is still having trouble standing but therapy can’t do much more due to the stroke. She is able to do pivots/transfers but they have to be done carefully and with assistance. I think I can do it myself but I am not sure.

Please keep up the prayers and good thoughts.

Well, Jill is not coming home today after all. After some jumping through hoops, the staff told me she has decided that a long term facility will be a better for her so she can have more help than I alone can provide.

While I am saddened by this choice, I understand it. We had talked a bit about it after the stroke but had figured we could wait a while. But the most important thing is her safety.

The initial call said no visitors, which really confused me. They didn’t say anything about COVID so I knew it wasn’t that. Turns out it seems Jill may have thought I would talk her out of it. I was afraid they thought I would do something bad to her! Far far from it. Yes, like many married folks, we argue at times but I don’t think I’ve ever made her feel unsafe.

Sorry to vent here.

And now, we’re in the ER again as she has something in her lungs.

I dont even want to imagine the emotional stress you've got to be going through right now. Hang in there man, be strong for her and yourself. Stay determined, we're all pulling for you.

Not pneumonia but being treated for othe infections. Admitted to hospital for unknown amount of time.
