Just finished Neil Gaiman's Stardust and watched the movie soon after. I started and finished Janet Evanovich's Lean Mean 13 last night and I'm going to get to work on Gaiman's Neverwhere soon.

Henwy, I loved Neverwhere. Make sure to see the BBC series that the book is based off of. It is a blast to watch. Me I'm reading my puzzles books and currently the forms (after not having Internet for a week!)

Lady Myke

It was interesting comparing the book Stardust to the movie Stardust. I liked both. They were significantly different. I think the changes they made to the movie improved the movie (and Michelle Pfeiffer looks really good for being 48).

I assume you have read Gaimen's "Anansi Brothers" it is my favorite of his books.

I didn't care for Neverwhere all that much. It was weird and choppy. Maybe that's what comes from writing a book based off a movie/mini series. There are just weird dead-ends and gaps that you can't imagine any author wouldn't normally fill in. But, if the whole idea is to based it on a movie, then there's nothing to fill it in with.

I haven't watched the mini series yet, though I have it downloaded and ready. I was just so disapointed with the book I haven't convinced myself to pull the trigger yet.

I liked the movie ending to the stardust movie much better than the book. The book ending was pretty much a WTF. I mean, it's a fairy tale. There has to be a climax somewhere. Kill the witch, save the kingdom, etc. Pfeiffer was phenomenal. Claire Danes looked and acted like dog vomit.

I liked American Gods better than Anansi Boys. I was expecting a serious followup and the humor elements threw me at first. I had been hoping to get more questions about the world answered in the book. It wasn't a sequel as much as a stand alone and I had been anticipating sequel.
