I keep hearing good things about it...though, not from anyone I know who actually saw the film :P. Mostly reviews have been great.

Yeah...it was a movie with absolutely NO closure. It ends and you're sitting there going "WTF". Or, at least I was...I hate it when a movie just ends...almost like they got to the end of a reel and just said, "aw, forget it...let's go to Taco Bell and celebrate being done"....????? I really don't know HOW that got best movie of the year. Granted, I don't see a lot of movies these days (unless you could Horton, Enchanted, Alvin, etc kid movies) but seriously....best movie....NO WAY. It did have previews for "Gone Baby Gone" before it and that looked really good...it's coming up on PPV soon, so we may have to check that one out.

If you're tight on time, skip No Country For Old Men....if you have a couple of hours to waste, go for it and see what you think. I think it's either a HATED IT or LOVED IT movie....no "yeah, that was OK".

Lori
Finally watched Beowulf - it was pretty good...not for kids - but pretty good.

Also watched I am Legend...thought this was good as well - I mean if you have to believe all of NYC is wiped out in a plague of man-made origin...they did a fair job of selling it.

Both are must watch again movies - and I am glad they are in my library.

I loved I am Legend! Then again I love post appocolyptic stories!

That's the only reason I didn't fall asleep in the theater.

Minus the crappy ending I thought it was good. The hunt and chase of the good guy and the hitman kept me interested. How big the organization was and to what extent they would go to recover property. Where the morality of the hitman rested while doing his job. Entertainment for me.

I thought Legend was excellent. I'm big on Sci-Fi Movies anyway. That in itself is enough to go see it. The bonus is the story and the special effects. Not that hard of a sale. I don't think. Scientists are always experimenting on things that they don't have a clear understanding for.
Shame it wasn't true to the book. But still entertainment unto itself.
