Gary, I am watching the San Diego / New England game tonight. Can we get a Clerical bless on L.T. for tonight? I have him in my other fantasy league and I would really appreciate it. Thanks.
I dunno - I have him in 2 leagues...and just can't see putting down a Bless on the old man...

Why the Chargers let Turner go...I'll never understand... Are they seriously going to ride the LT train for the next 5 years and sacrifice any shot at a superbowl?!?

Next thing you know the QB or Gates are gone, and then the Chargers are right back where they were when LEAF was in the picture!

OYE!

How about a little faith? (you are a Cleric, are you not?) Imagine he is running against the defense of Iuz the Old if you have to. :-P
I have faith that LT has 2 maybe 3-4 years...but how good will they be - and why let talent like Turner get away...

Sproles seems to be pretty good. I don't think San Diego could have kept Turner if they had wanted to. He has a starter's talent and he wouldn't have wanted to continue sitting behind LT.

Kim

ah, but that would have been the beauty of things...with O'neil gone (and yes, this is a partial reason LT productivity is down) the Chargers could have gone to a two RB backfield...Start both LT and Turner and split the work load. Use Turner for up the gut and LT for the Right or Left.

Turner would have seen a bunch of rushing touchdowns and LT - the rare ones when he is able to break free going to the outside. I think it would have been GREAT for LT to have younger legs next to him to help keep his youth.

oh yes Sproles is good - didn't they try him at RB and it was not so good...?? I'm glad to see him get some time running in the open field, because he is fast, and very hard to grab once he gets up to speed.

2 minutes of football...

From Yahoo 10/17:

Steelers' Polamalu blasts NFL over fines (AP)
Troy Polamalu wishes someone would put the football back into the National Football League. Polamalu, unhappy with the increasing number of fines for what he says are nefarious infractions that weren't penalized, is complaining the over-the-top enforcement of contact-related rules is taking away what makes the sport so popular.

OK well sorry TP - I disagree...any hit that calls into question player safety be it even an accidental helmet to helmet...I think fines are a good thing.

Football should be about the "good" play and that does not mean cleaning a guys clock with a "bad" hit! Yes, I think (like hockey) if someone is not paying attention, and someone else unloads on them (with a clean/legal hit) that is fine...I mean - no fine is required.

But the League is very wise to levy fines on players for "bad" hits (even if not flagged in a game - because we all KNOW Refs are not perfect~!).

Keeping players healthy and playing is a good goal, one I think is helped by a tape review and fines of cheep hits!

***hard to define a bad hit - whatever the NFL is currently using is good...of course on REF calls of helmet to helmet - I think those need to be reviewed with instant replay, because some hits happen too fast for a good call.***
