Anyone else finding these last few pre-GenCon days to be sheer torture? I'm ready to confess now!

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh...

Do what I do to relieve the pre-con stress, fly half way across the country 2 days before the event you have spent the last year of your life on, to visit with family that refers to it as 'that little sewing project thing you help on.' Gotta to love being the only gamer in a large Irish family.

Yeah this is my first GenCon, mom's not to happy about me just leaving, and going to Indy, although it's only a 3 hour drive. Also the first time I have gone this far away by my self.

I'm keeping myself busy with a "practice" game this weekend. Creating all new characters, pulling out the new con dice, obsessing over the details of background and party balance on Saturday, Running it on Sunday. I'm keeping stuff ready, but not packing until Monday, to give myself something to keep occupied with then. Tuesday I leave so early, I won't feel it, and can spend my plane trip reviewing and re-reviewing my DM materials.

Scheduled it all out :-) In the gaps, I've been playing Civ3 to burn the hours, and I just got a new phone to play with 'cause my old one ceased to be.

I like flying and all, but a nice drive will help calm my nerves as it's my first time vol. I still have laundry to do. I'll do that on monday and pack tuesday, just before I leave.

10 hours.. 47 minutes to go.. AND COUNTING!
