Important Info​

First VTD Patron Adventure in January – Patrons can enjoy two special Virtual True Dungeon adventures in 2024. Transmuting Starts Jan. 5th, 2024 - The 2024 Transmute tokens become available for construction on Jan. 5th, 2024.

Tokens have been a very popular component of True Dungeon since they were introduced at Gen Con So Cal in 2003. Tokens were added so players could experience one of the most interesting and fun parts of adventuring--getting treasure! Treasure Tokens are heavy, and combined with their "gold" color, they have the weight and appearance of a gold piece. Our tokens are VERY durable, water-resistant, and have a special clear laminate that protects the full-color image quite well. Nearly all tokens feature the current year embossed on the back to deter counterfeiting.

The tokens that come in a standard ten-pack are organized into Common, Uncommon, Rare, and Ultra Rare rarity groups. Each pack of Treasure Tokens contains:

  • Seven random Common tokens*
  • Two random Uncommon tokens
  • One random Rare token

*1 out of 100 ten-packs come with one Ultra Rare token in place of one of the Common tokens!

Every player receives a free pack of 10 random Treasure Tokens at the start of their adventure, but players can also purchase tokens online HERE or by clicking on the TD STORE graphic below. Some players become collectors and trade tokens throughout the year on the TD Forums.

AG members have priority purchasing rights to event tickets for all Virtual True Dungeon events in 2024.  This bonus also applies to in-person events where TD sells the tickets on www.td.events.

 

$8K Onyx Set Order Option for Patrons (more info!)

Option #1: C-U-R Onyx Set & 32 URs

In addition to the 960 ten-packs of tokens, you receive all the following:

  • 32 FREE 2024 or 2023 core Ultra Rare tokens of your choice
  • 9× random 2024 core Ultra Rare tokens (Also, there is a chance of getting a 10th random Ultra Rare token in your order!)
  • 8× Ring of the 3rd Circle--the 3rd part in a 5-year story arc token! Transmuting all 5 Rings grants your character a special power and grants you access to Ring Con.
  • A set of Onyx tokens of the core 2024 Common, Uncommon and Rare (but no Ultra Rare) rarity groups
  • 1× über-rare Wish Ring
  • 1× über-rare Path of Enlightenment (Fragment 2). Needed for extra fun at Ring Con.
    • Each year from 2023-2026 a different Path to Enlightenment Fragment token gets printed. Sometime after all four Fragments have been released, they can be transmuted into a Map to Enlightenment. The details of the Map of Enlightenment’s powers are shrouded in mystery at this time, but it will be required to play in the special Patron adventure at Ring Con.
  • 1× über-rare Patron Lapel Pin which allows you to enjoy these TD Patron benefits:
    • The first Patron-exclusive event for 2024 (with a unique Participation token & code) is taking place via Virtual True Dungeon on Friday, January 26th, 2024. It's a prelude adventure to the upcoming VTD adventure season which premieres the next day.
    • The second Patron-exclusive event for 2024 (with a different, exclusive Participation token & code) is a special Virtual True Dungeon experience in the Fall of 2024. Details will be announced closer to the event, but it is open to all Patrons who make their purchase before 11:59 pm CDT on October 1st, 2024.
    • Patrons have the first chance to buy event tickets at all virtual True Dungeon events in 2024.
  • 4× Limited-edition Adventurers’ Guild entrance buttons. Each person wearing an AG button receives access to the exclusive Adventurers’ Guild bag check service at Gen Con and Gamehole Con. All four 2023-2026 Path to Enlightenment fragment tokens can be transmuted into the Mark of Enlightenment which grants a cool (TBA) Relic-level power.

 

Option #2: Full Onyx Set & 16 URs

Like Option #1, but you get a complete set (1 each of all 20) of the core 2024 Onyx Ultra Rare tokens. Plus, you may choose 16 core Ultra Rare tokens from the 2024 or 2023--instead of 32 as with Option #1.

 

Option #3: No Onyxes & 34 URs

The same as Option #1, but instead of receiving any Onyx tokens, you may pick two more 2024/2023 core Ultra Rare tokens (34 total) for free during check out.

The Golden Ticket
We randomly inserted 100 special Golden Ticket tokens into the 2024 token collection. Instead of a Common token in a typical ten-pack of tokens, you could get one of these über-cool tokens. Details for the Golden Ticket events can be found at the URL printed on the token. Golden Ticket participants get a host of extra goodies which include a completely awesome pack of tokens and an exclusive GT-only surprise inside a True Dungeon adventure. If you pull a GT, go the dedicated GT Signup thread on the TD Forum and sign up for the convention where you want to redeem your GT. Don't delay! There are a limited number of slots for each convention--first come gets first pick.

REMEMBER: The more tokens you buy, the greater your chance of finding a Golden Ticket!
 

Multi-year Transmute from 2023-2026
2023's Greaves of Absorption (a 2023 core Ultra Rare) was the first token in a four-year Transmutable recipe. Greaves of the Stalwart (a 2024 core Ultra Rare) is the second. When you have all four of these Ultra Rare greaves, you can transmute them into the Arcanum Greaves. The Arcanum Greaves' power has not been announced yet, but it's going to be the second token in the impressive Arcanum set!

 

Condensed Packs ($1K each)
Some token collectors don't want to spend a lot of time opening hundreds of ten-packs of tokens. They asked if we could make a condensed version available that would look like what 120 ten-packs would be AFTER the Common tokens were turned in for Trade tokens. Condensed packs save collectors the hassle of opening up all those ten-packs, sorting them, and then sending them off to be exchanged for Trade tokens. During the ordering process, you select what portion of your order you'd like to be Condensed.

Instead of getting the normal 120 packs, you receive the following for each Condensed Pack:

  • 4× Ultra Rare tokens of your choice from either the core 2024 or 2023 print runs--mix & match as you like
  • 1× Ring of the 3rd Circle token--the 3rd part in a 5-year story arc token! Transmuting all 5 Rings grants your character a special power and grants you access to Ring Con.
  • 1× random 2024 core Ultra Rare token (There is a chance you might get a second random Ultra Rare token in your order.)
  • 120× Random Rare tokens (10% of these have platinum backs)
  • 240× Random Uncommon tokens (10% of these have platinum backs)
  • 1× Alchemist's Ink
  • 3× Alchemist's Parchment
  • 5× Darkwood Plank
  • 9× Dwarven Steel
  • 1× Enchanter's Munition
  • 5× Minotaur Hide
  • 6× Mystic Silk

$8K Super Condensed Packs
Some collectors live overseas and/or have a limited amount of time to convert Uncommon and Rare tokens to Trade Tokens. Some of these folks have requested we transmute ALL their Common, Uncommon, and Rare tokens into Trade Tokens. To meet this need, we offer the $8K Super Condensed Pack. During the ordering process, you select if you want your order to be Super Condensed.

Instead of getting the normal 960 ten-packs, you receive the following for each $8K Super Condensed Pack:

  • either 16×, 32×, or 34× core Ultra Rare tokens (depending on the Onyx Set option you selected) of your choice from either the 2024 or 2023 print runs--mix & match as you like
  • 8× Ring of the 3rd Circle--the 3rd part in a 5-year story arc token! Transmuting all 5 Rings grants your character a special power and grants you access to Ring Con.

  • 1× über-rare Path to Enlightenment (Fragment 2)

Note on Tweaking Orders: If you are placing an $8K order but you wish to tweak the demoninations of what items who receive (e.g., 3× Treasure Chips instead of 10× Treasure Chips), we can generally accommodate your request. In most cases a tweak won't be a problem, and you can put those notes in the Comment box when you place an order. However, please email us before you place the order--just to make sure what you are requesting is doable. So long as it is not something crazy, it should not be an issue. Please email store followed by a symbol that looks like a lowercase a in a circle followed by the domain you're viewing right now. (Sorry for the cryptic instructions, but spammers are quite a nuisance and we need to do what we can to make their lives more difficult.)
