This is more logistical, but how will the GT work with people who get condensed packs? The won't be getting the normal packs the GTs will be inserted into so won't be sorta hard to sort out the % odds and whatnot?

I am interested in that as well. I plan on doing a lot on condensing but if that will hurt my GT chances then i will not be.

The tokens should ship out by mid March. Many in the True Dungeon community have work hard on the 2010 Token Collection...

Little nitpicky detail: It should be worked not work.

Jennifer

Since we will know the EXACT amount of condensed packs we can adjust Golden Tickets in both the normal 10-packs and the condensed packs so the chances remain the same. For the condensed pack the GTs will be stirred into the pile of UR tokens (which will be blindly picked from and inserted into the big Rare bag at the proper rate of 1-100).

So, it is all fine and taken care of as far as URs and GTs go for condensed packs. For normal 10-packs it will be just like years before.
Did you guys notice this:

*NOTE: Ultra Rare choices: You may pick ANY Ultra Rare token as your gold choice UR (if you spend over $250) from 2007-2010 collections -- except the Horn of Plenty and the Amulet of Wonder.

Hrm...

I'm not quite sure how I feel about it. I guess it's nice that they're expanding the Mithral Chain exception to cover every token. But I also kind of like the idea of retiring sets and this feels almost like they're essentially getting reprinted. I imagine that some of the heavy collectors might be a bit annoyed by this.

In addition, I expect there will be a run for some of the rarer purps like Nightshade's Short Sword, Gloves of Dexterity, and maybe Cloak of the Mage & Ring of Wizardry (those wizards always seem to drive the eBay prices of these up astronomically high).

It does mean that there's no need to rush to buy tokens anymore. Certainly no reason to pick up set pieces you don't think you're going to use immediately. Something better may always come along in the meantime and you can always go back and pick it up whenever you want. I figure this will drive some initial short-term purchasing but surpress token purchasing in the long term. If there's no need to get something this year, then you can wait knowing it'll always be there whenever you get around to it in a year or two.

A personal example would be the Orb of might for me. I was going to pick one up this year because I have the crown and while I'm not sure the set will be worth it, I didn't want to run the risk of missing out. If this is the policy from now on, I would have passed on both the crown and orb, figuring I'll wait until the whole set is out and others have run through with the set bonus and I've got a better idea if it's worth it. It would cut down my purchases to the essentials that I want to use now, and make me less likely to buy, much less buy multiple. In the past, I've picked up multiples of the same UR figuring I could always use it for the time being and have it as trade fodder for something new. That will likely never happen again.

As for the short term boon, we'll have people snatching up some of the older ones they missed and thought unavailable save through trades or ebay. That'll be nice for some of the newbies balanced by a hit to vets who were given the impression reprints would be rare or nonexistent.

I wonder if it's just a case that Jeff didn't sell out of certain UR and he's offering up an opportunity for people to get them rather than him just holding on to them.

Kim

Mwahaha, I wonder if Jeff has considered cross pollinating his businesses. For every $250 in Dwarven Forge merch, they get a UR of choice :)
